The meeting was called to order by the president and everyone join ed together in singing the hymn. "Thy Kingdom Is Coming." Mrs. Carl Cooke road the devo tional and followed with prayer The roll was called and minutes of the last meeting were read and ap proved. The program for the evening. **Make Me A Channel Of Bless ing". was carried out by Mrs. Ik® Cutts and Mrs Alvin Newton. The program was closed with a prayer by Mrs. Oarland Whittington. The hostess then served delicious refreshments consisting of straw berry ice cream, pie pound cake, potato chips and cheese bits to the following: Mrs. Nina Barnes, Mrs. Herbert Cutts. The money goes to the N. C. 8ociety for Crippled Children and Adults. O. E. S. Officers Honored At Dinner Party Mr. and Mrs. Ira Lee honored 'their daughter,. Mrs. Sam Strica lend, who was to be installed as Worthy Matron in the Order Of I Eastern Star, and her installing officers at a dinner party Monday evening at si* o’clock at their home. i The home was beautifully deco rated with a color scheme of crim son and gold, Mrs. Stricklands chosen colors for the year. Jon quils, Dutch Iris, tulips, and camel lias were used In the living room and library. The dining room table was covered with an Imported linen cut-work cloth and centered w.th arrangement of yellow roses and red carnations in a crystal con tainer. The arrangement was flank ed by crystal candle holders con taining yellow candles. Upon arrival the guests were served fruit Juice cocktail In the library by Mrs. R. A. Duncan. • The dinner was served buff.t style. The menu consisted of fried asparagus, with cheese sauce, can died yams, pickles, pineapple salad hot rolls, strawberry shortcake nd coffee.
