Given in marriage by her fa ther, She bride wore a gown of Italian silk taffeta fashioned with a portrait necklinfe accent ed with lace motifs and an empire bodice. The full skirt extended into a court train. Her finger tip veil of illusion was attached to a crown of seed pearls and she carried a white Bible topped with a white orchid. ATTENDANTS % -•? Mrs. Larry Wiljard Prestridge, the bride’s sister, was matron of honor. She wore a lavender dress with full skirt, lavender head piece and carried a bouquet of white carnations. Church Women Meet Monday The Ladies Auxiliary of Pope’s Chapel Church met at the home of Mrs. Catherine Parker Mon day night. The meeting was opened by Mrs. Katie Parker followed by a group hymn. Scripture from I Timothy and a talk on the sub ject was given by Mrs. Lessle Wept. Linden Pair Pledge Vows Historic CelUero Chapel Com munity church, Linden, was the setting for the wedding of Miss Lessis Gail Byrd and Jerry Lyn wood Parker Saturday, June 29, at three o'clock in the afternoon. Dr. Wm. Howard Carter, presi dent of Carter College, officiat ed at the double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Byrd, of Route 1, Linden. She received her education at the Pine For est High School, Cumberland County. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Parker, Route 1, linden, He, too, received his education at the Pine Forest High School. The bride'wore a white street length dress with matching ac cessories for the ceremony. The young couple entered the church toether unatended and stood before the altar to speak their marriage vows. Music wa3 provided by Mrs. Robert E. Lee, pianist, and Mrs. Sylvia Hubbard, vocalist.
