sM Kathy J KwittehU “No school tomorrow!” This cry could be heard by the many excited students as they left school yes terday. There was no school to day because of the annual teacher’s meeting in Raleigh. It really seems good to have a day off and a long weekend ahead of us. HOMECOMING QUEEN — We arte extremely proud of our Home coming ’ Queen, Paulette Drew. Paulette was elected by the popu lar vote of the football players and was crowned last Friday night at the half. It was a great Home coming! There couldn’t have been a better game as Dunn beat Lum berton 13-0. We were really proud of our boys because Dunn has lost to Lumberton, for the past three ^ears. A dancdl at &e fNlyne Ave nue Cafeteria ended the festivities with the Dunn High Combo, “The Black Notes”, providing the music. Jftll seemed to enjoy the d^pca and ureaded for* the night !o Ad: RAMBLING — At the pep rally last night the Cheerleaders brewed tip a victory for Dunn. The witches and ghosts created an eeirie effect for Halloween. After the pep rally the Black Notes held a dance at the “Grill”. A good crowd attended and it proved very satisfactory In celebrating our holiday today.. Last Friday the assembly program consisted of a ballet from Lamar Studios in Raleigh. Domini Harts - field took part in this program. She has a vast amount of talent and we all know she will go places .On November 3. 4, and 5, Miss Matthews. Cliff Butler, Jona than Hill, Alice Butt, and Sylvia Wellons are to attend the Student Council Convention in Winston Salem. It Is to help our officers create a Wetter relationship be tween the Council and the clubs and students .Yesterday mora ine an entertainment was given by a Scotchman. He slaved the bag piDes and demonstrated other strange musical instruments. It was an interesting program. We need more programs like that to fur ther our education »s fsr as music Is concerned —Be sure to at tend the ball game tonight In Rae fnrd and see the Green waves “Rock Raeford”!...:..Don’t forget - the Juniors are selling Christmas cards so buv them now and avoid the Christmas rush. The Lum berton band certajnlv looked good Friday night Of course it could never outdo the Dunn High band. FRAT PLEDGE — Congratula tions to Butch Pate, a Freshman at Wake Forest College and a Dunn High graduate of 1963, on being a pledge into the Kappa Sig fra ternity at school. Good luck, Butch; they really know how to choose the right boys to Join their frater nity. GOSSIP: Boys, are you going to let a new girl in town show you up when it comes to driving a trac tor?..... What is this we heard about Judy Godwin and Wayne Lee? It looks like they’re going steady again. Rebecca Wilson’s face is a sunshine yellow this week, just like her hair; is it because Johnny is coming home? THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK: one pressing need today is for less publicity on how to stay young | and more on how to grow up.
