Stancil—DuPree Vows Spoken In Sunday Rites In a three o’clock ceremony Sunday, Miss Shirley Ann Du pree, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Wade Dupree, Sr. of Dunn, and Jesse Mack Stancil, son of Mrs. Robert Stancil, also of Dunn, and the late Mr. Stan cil, were married in the memorial chapel of Hood Memorial Chris tian Church. Rev. Neil Housewright, pastor of the bride, performed the cere mony. Music was presented by Mrs. Housewright. The vows were pledged before white mums and gladiolus with a background of fern and two seven branched candelabras. The wedding was attended by relatives arid a few close friends. For her nuptials, the bride wore a street length dress of white organza. Her veil was of French illusion with pearls and she carried a cascade of white Frenched carnations and an or chid. The bride’s sister, Miss Linda DuPree, the maid of honor, was dressed in rose with matching headpiece. She carried a nosegay of pink carnations. Thomas Wade DuPree, Jr., brother of the bride, was best man. Mr. and Mrs. Stancil will make their homte in Raleigh where both are employed. A reception was held after the ceremony at the bride’s home. Muriel Bain Bride Of J. Van Sharpe Of Sanford Miss Muriel Bain of Route 1 Bunnlevel and j. Van Sharpe of Sanford were married Sunday afternoon in a ceremony sol mnized at 4 o’clock at Plat Branch Presbyterian church. The Rev. Frank Wilkerson, pas tor heard the vows. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Bain of Route 1, Bunnlevel. Hie bride groom is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hugh E. Sharpe of Sanford. A program of wedding music was presented by Tommy Shaw, vocalist and Miss Janice Smith, pianist. Given in marriage by her father, the bride' Wore a gbwh of white satin and Alencon lace, fashioned with scoop neckline, of lace, basque bodice, long sleeves' tapering to points over the hands. The sweep skirt ex tended into a chapel train. Her fingertip veil was attached to a coronet of seed pearls with silk braid/She carried a bridal bou quet. ; Miss Lois Bain was her sis ter’s maid of honor. She wore a ballerina length dress of pe tal blue satapeare with fitted bodicej featuring scoop neck line, |hort sleeves, and tapered bow at waist line. The bell skirt was ballerina length. She wore e matching rose centered in a scalloped circle veil. She car ried a; nosegay of bridal flowers. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Find ley Cjiambers of Raleigh, sister of thf bride and Miss Margaret /v\arma Gregory Feted On 5th Birthday Martha Elaine Gregory cele brated her fifth birthday with a party; Saturday afternoon. She le the' daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Gregory. The guests enjoyed games and were ^served cake, Ice cream, candy; corn chips and Kool Aid. Attending the bridegroom as best man was Olenn Adams of Rockingham. Ushers were Ous Thrift of Rockingham and Char les Bain of Bunnlevel, brother of the bride. Following the oeremony the couple left for a wedding trip to Florida after which they will be at home in Sanford. The bride is a graduate of Is lington high school and is em ployed at the Ullington Gar ment Company. The bridegroom is a, graduate of Greenwood High School and holds a job with the Seabord Airline Railway Co. baptist urcie Meets Tuesday Circle Two, the Patsy Hillard Circle, of the First Baptist Church of Erwin was entertain ed Tuesday night by Mrs. Hart well Byrd. Attending were Mrs. J. L. Honeycutt, Mrs. Lettle McLamb, Mrs. Pearl Leonard, Mrs. Alton Stephenson, Mrs. Rita Jackson, Mrs. Mildred Cameron, MTs. Mamie Farm. Mrs. Mamie Aut ry, Mrs. Pauline Pope, Mrs. Ma ble Gray, Mrs. Edna Stephen son, Mrs. Bumie Honeycutt, Mrs. Olive Pope, Mrs. Annie Pollard, Mrs. Evelyn Turner and Mrs. Lettle Lucas. Mrs. Alton Stephenson, leader, presided and the hostess pre sented the program on “Over seas Missions." Plans were discussed for Week of Prayer (Nov. 17-28) and for the circle's Christmas party at the next meting December 8. It wil be held at the church. Pie a la mode and coffee were served. TURKEY SUPPER A turkey supepr win be held at Poplar Grove Community House, Route 8, Saturday from 5 until 9 p.m. Turkey and dress ing platters and chicken stew plates wUl be sold for 81.00 each. The hostess was in charge of the program entitled, ‘The Pow er of Prayers and Faith”. Suebelle Jackson Paid Honor A November bride-elect, Miss Suebelle Jackson, was enter tained at. a kitchen shower Tuesday night by Miss Wanda Faircloth at her home on South Washington Avenue. Cheese biscuits; chicken salad puffs, bridal cakes, nuts and punch were served by, Miss Fair cloth and Miss Phyllis Pope. Miss Jackson was given a chrysanthemum corsage upon arrival. Two Guests Meet With Bridge Club Mrs. John CIccone feted mem* hers of the Friendly Down Bridge Club at her home on West Cumberland Street Wed nesday night.
