of Latter Day Saints on March 1.
Elder Bennett, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Orady F. Bennett of North
Wayne Avenue, will be soon depart
ing for the Brazilian South Mission
of the church.

F. McGowan, whose wife, Eliza
beth, lives In Erwin, participated
in Operation WINTER-TRACK,
an 8th Infantry Division field
training maneuver near Giessen,
Germany, which ended late in
January. McGowan is regularly
assigned as a supply chief in
Headquarters Company, 5th How
itzer Battalion of the division’s
Cist Artillery near Wiesbaden,
Germany. <?.
The 33-year-old soldier, son of
Jessie L. McGowan, 503 E. Holly,
Goldsboro, entered the Army In
November 1048 and has been over
seas since December 1962. McGo
wan is a 1948 graduate of Mulberry
<Fla.) High School.
VISIT IN GREENSBORO
Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Matthews
spent Sunday in Greensboro visit
ing Dr. W E Neal, who is a patient
in Cone Memorial Hospital.
