Former Dunn Man Weds NTCHOLS, S.C.—MisS Wanda Blanton, a Junior at Columbia j College, and Brantley Altman Nor ris, a third-year pharmacy- stu dent at the University of South Carolina were married Saturday evening at 6:30 pm. The wedding took place at Plea sant View Baptist Church with the Rev. Eddie C. Hough and the Rev. Paul Hudson officiating. Daughter of Mrs. T. L. Blan ton of Loris and the late Mr. Blanton, the bride was given in marriage by her uncle, D. M. Blanton of Loris. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Vel mon Norris of Fayetteville, form erly of Dunn find grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Norris of Route 4, Dunn. He was attended by his father as best man. Mrs. Margaret Hall of oris was her sister’s matron of honor. Bridesrr.-aids were Jennette Hall, niece of the bride, and Shirley Holt of Loris, Betty Walsh of Greenville, S. C., Gail Jones of Mullins, S. C„ Gerry Dorman of Tabor City, N. C. and Mrs. Brian Taylor of Charleston, S. C. Debby Sue Hall of Loris, niece of the bride, was jtkiior bridesmaid. Kilby Strickland Willie Bethune Takes Bride BTInnLEVEL — Miss Judy Pat ricia Jones and Willie Everton Bethune Jr. were married Sunday in the Friendship Baptist Church. The Rev. Charles Stafford offi ciated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Fleming and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bethune. Given in marriage by her fath er, the bride wore a gown of chantilly lace and silk organza. Her veil was attached to a double pearl coronet an<j she carried a bouquet of orchids, lilies of the valley and stephanotis. Miss Cynthia Jane Byrd was maid of honor and bridesmaids were Miss Faye Allen of Raleigh, Miss Gayle Byrd, Miss Donnette Miss Anne Celeste Byrd, Miss Ma rie McLamb and Miss Joe Ann Temple. Tim Bethune was ring bearer and Rachel Stafford was flower girl. The bridegroom’s father was best man and ushers were Horace Bthune Jr., Ted Matthews, Don ald Dawson, Richard Byrd, Mel Bethune and P. E. Jones Jr . After a wedding trip to the North Carolina mountains, the couple will make their home in Fayetteville. The bride was gra duated from Lillington High School and the bridegroom attend ed Campbell College and Worth’s Business College. He works at Commercial and Industrial Bank in Fayetteville. Mr. and Mrs. Norris will make; their home on the U.S.C. campus in Columbia. . j Pansy Hargis Weds Mr. Smith The marriage of Miss Pansy Maranda Hargis of Willow Springs and Johnny Lee Smith of Raleigh, was solemnized June 7 in New Hope Presbyterian Church, Williow Springs. The Rev. A. G, Courtney officiated. Mr. and Mrs. William Lawrence Hargis of Williow Springs are the bride’s parents. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Smith of Raleigh. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of Chantilly lace and stain, trimmed with se quins. Her veil was attached to a crown of seed pearls and she car ried a bouquet of orchids and lilies of the valley. Mrs. William Lawrence Hargis Jr. of Willow-Springs was matron of honor. Best man was the bride groom’s father. Ushers were the bride’s brother, William Lawrence Hargis Jr. of Willow Springs, and George Holmes of Raleigh. The couple are at home at 908 Northview St., Raleigh. The bride attended Fuquay Spr ings High School and is employed by the Department of Motor Vehicles. The bridegroom attend ed Garner High School and is as sistant manager of Piggiy Wiggly Pood Store on New Bern Avenue, Raleigh. Two Hostesses Have Class Meet Members of the T.E.L. Class of the First Baptist Church gather ed at the home of Mrs. Harry Magruder Tuesday afternoon- Mrs. George Warren was the co-hostess. Mrs. Archie Burns, class teach er, used as her devotional topic, ■‘The Eternal Word of God.” Mrs. Magruder presided over the business session and the women were asked to continue their visita tion program. The Anderson decor was com plimented by arrangements of daisies and chrysanthemums dyed a “spun sugar” pink, and the se veral tables laid for the guests were centered with dainty nose gays in pink champayne glasses. The menu consisted of chilled creme tomato soup, chicken sa lad, strawberrie en gele, beaten biscuits, and bridal ices. Miss Anderson presented her wedding attendants with exquisi tely wrapped packets which proved to be white kid gloves. Her mother received a framed portrait of the future bride as did the groom’s mother. Guests attending were Sandra Temple, Elaine Purdie, Mary Tem ple, Linda Lynch, Susan Warren, Carole Stephenson, Mrs. Victor Anderson, Mrs. Earl J. Temple, Sr., Mxs. Myres W. Tilghman. Shore Dinners Honors Bridal Couple Miss Oinny Anderson and Jack Temple were honored by Misses Carole Stephenson, Linda Lynch, Susan Waj-ren and Elaine Purdie at a shore dinner, Saturday even ing, at Little River, S. C. The nautically decorated win dows afforded a sweeping view of the shimmering waters of the ri ver, and the thatched roof and mounted game fish along the wall added to the unique decor. The dining table was centered with a gallery tray heaped with gardenias and magnolias, flanked by burn ing hurricane lamps. Adding to the atmosphere of the occasion was the melodious guitar music, several selections of which were dedicated to the ho nored couple. A delectable four course dinner was enjoyed by CMnny Anderson, Jack Temple, Mary Tilghman, Pat Pope, Sandra Temple, Bill Throw er, Phyllis Myers, Jerry Barnes, Carole Stephenson, Mike McLeod, Susan Warren, Baxter Stirling, Elaine Purdie, Billy Pope, Linda Lynch and Cliff Butler. Frances Moore To Wed Friday Miss Sarah Frances Moore will become Mrs. Jimmy Carl Hamil ton in a ceremony to be solemnized Friday evening at 7:00 in the Wade Baptist Church.
