Got Idea From TV Show Teenage Gang LOS ANGELES TJPI _ Twelve teen-agers suspected of committing 29 burglaries that netted them $5,300 in cash and merchandise said they got the idea from a television show, Temple City sher iff's deputies reported today. The youngsters, led by a 15-year cld youth, were apprehended Thursday by deputies who recover ed about $2,500 in loot. Deputies said members of the Juvenile gang ‘told them they called themselves “The Rogues” and got the idea for their or ganization and its exploits from a television show that “glamorizes criminals.” The youngsters had: —Drawn . up an organizational chart. —Elected leaders. —Opened bank accounts for their profits. —Held weekly dinners to discuss 'future business.” They also operated under rules that included: —“All members must wear tur tle neck sweaters, especially to the weekly dinner meetings. —“At dinner we will talk abotik Uiie weed’s burglaries. —“We will ride to and frodi jobs in 'taxis wherever possible. —“Members will break up in twos. Each group will pockefc own haul.’’ Deputies said members of the gang—all from Temple City High School—adirtitted burglarizing 19 homes in Temple City, nine In Pasadena and one in San Gabriel. Barry Goldwater told news men today he was enjoying himself and having a good rest at Montego Bay. The senator, earlier reported to be “blistering mad” at persistent efforts of newsmen to interview him, said he was grateful and pleased they were now respecting his privacy. He said he had reservations un til Nov. 22 at the Royal Caribbean Hotel and would probably stay the full time in Jamaica because he was “having such a wonderful time.” Previously, Goldwater had threat ened to cut short his stay because of the attention he was getting from newsmen.
