Granddaughter Of Dunn Lady Engaged Stephen Williams Frontis of Greensboro announces the engage ment of his daughter, Mary Cel este, and Robert Charles Zimmer man of Bellinsona, Switzerland, son of Mr and Mrs. Kurt Zim mentnah of Bellinzona. The wedding Is planned for June. The bride Is a daughter of Mr. Frontis and the late Kathryn God win Frontis and is a graduate of Grimsley High School and Sa lem Academy, Wlnston-Salenv She Is a senior «t Goucher Col lege in Baltimore, Md„ where she Is majoring ln English. She is a granddaughter of ' Mrs. Shelly Frontis of Mooresville and the late Dr. Frontis and Mrs. Robert | l Godwin of Dunn and the late Mr. Godwin. Mr. Zimmerman is a graduate of Institute on 'the Rosenberg near St. Gall, Switzerland, and re ceived his bachelor of arts de gree from the University of Cali fornia at Berkeley. His master of *rts degree is from Syracuse Un iversity in New York and he is a doctoral candidate at Johns Hop kins University In Baltimore. The engagement announcement was made bv Miss Frontis’ fath er and stepmother at a dinner psrty. f * Garden Club Has Holiday Party The annual Christmas dinner of the House and Garden Club of Buies Creek began with the appetizer at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Dali. Mrs. George Graham and Mrs. Charles Pulliam assisted Mrs. Dail. For the next course, the group moved to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Lasater Jr. where decorated tables were set in their family room. A buffet meal of pork ham, orange cups, lima beans, asparagus casserole and hot rolls was served 'the guests as they arrived. Those assisting Mrs. Lasater were Mrs. B. W. Jenkins, Mrs. Dan Linney, Mrs- Robert Morgan and Mrs. James Faison. For the dessert course, the group moved to the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Knight where the hostess was assisted by Mrs Don ald Keyser and Mrs. Robert King. Christmas tree ice cream molds, butterscotch brownies, nuts and chocolate covered mints were serv ed with Russian tea and coffee in the dining room. ; HOODS VISIT Mr. amd Mr®. Naylor of Route 1, Dunn, and Earl Dalton Pope, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dalton Pope of Route 5, Dunn, ex changed wedding vows in a dou ble-ring ceremony Sunday after noon at the Mingo Baptist Church. Rev. Donald Price, pastor of the church, heard the vows before bas kets of white chrysanthemums and greenery and white candles. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a white brocade satin gown with fitted bod ice and chapel train. The long sleeves terminated in points over the hands. Her elbow length veil fell from a crown of seed pearls and sequins. She carried a prayer book on which rested a white or chid. Musicians for the wedding were Sherrill Williams of Newton Grove, vocalist, and Mrs. Ann Warren of Route 1, Dunn, organist. Lees A reception honoring Mr. and Mrs. Fitzhugh Lee of Erwin was held la»t Wednesday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Godwin. The occasion was their 25th wedding anniversary. Hosts for the affair were Mr. and Mrs. Lee’s daughter and son in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Dor man of Wallace. Mrs. Ed Stephens registered the guests and Mrs. Albert Oldham pre sided at the gift table. Direct ing to the den, where Mr. and Mrs. Lee received, was Mrs. Bill Graham. Holiday decorations highlighted the living room and pink roses were featured in the den. The anniversary cake flanked by silver candelabras centered the dining room table. The buffet held an arrangement of white snap dragons, mums and gladioli with silver ivy and silver candle hold ers. Mrs. Billy Hobbs poured coffee while Mrs. Joseph Powell served punch. The cake was served by Mrs. Avery Pearce. Guests said goodbyes to Mr. and Mrs. Roy Godwin. ,Mrs. Lee is the former Edith Stephens of Erwin. The couple have two children, Mrs. Dorman and a son, A. P. Jr. Mrs. Whittenton Hosts Party Last Monday night employees of the parts department of George Carroll Chevrolet gathered at the home of Mrs. David Whittenton for a Christmas supper. In the party were Mrs. Cather ine Edwards, Garland Roebuck, George Lee and Ray Barefoot. Mrs. Roebuck, parts manager, was remembered with a gift as was Mr. Barefoot who is leaving the company. SHOWER On Thursdav. November 26. Miss Navlor was honored with a lovelv miscellaneous shower at Mingo Church’s fellowship hall. The hos tesses served assorted delicacies with punch to the fifty guests pre sent. Maternal aunts of the bride were hostesses. Large Crowd Gathers For Chicora Dance The 7th, 8th, and 9th grade group had a Christmas party and dance at the Country Club from (8:00 until 11:00 Monday night. Providing music for 'the occns sion were the Classmates from Buies Creek. Refreshments consisting of po tato chips, mints, assorted cookies, and pink punch were served to ap proximately, 100 persons. Chaperones for the dance were Mm. Nathan Johnson, Jr., Mrs. Victor Anderson, and Mrs. W. A. Taylor. Others attending the party were Mrs. William P. Lawrence, Mrs Robert Morgan, Mrs. Milton Step hens, Mrs. Eugerc Lasater, Jr„ and Mrs. M. B. Matthews. After the conclusion of the bridge pro gressions, the members exchanged Christmas gifts. VISITS PARENTS Rormie Stewart of Ft. The bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond John Paulmann of Mount Clem ens. After a trip to Nassau, the Couple will live at 160 Bird St., Apt. 16, in Birmingham, Mich. The bride is a 1964 graduate of Salem College In Winston-Salem where she received a bachelor of music degree. She teaches instru mental music in Southfield, Mich. The bridegroom attended East ern Michigan University aft Ypsi lanti an draduated from Baldwin Wallace College Conservatory of Music at Berea, Ohio with a bach elor of music education degree. He is a director of bands and head of instrumental music in the Lake Orion, Mich., public schools and is working toward a master of arts' degree at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
