Ritz Theatre To Feature ‘Blacula’ The management of the Ritz Theatre announces a very special double feature program will be presented at the neighborhood theatre at 1201 Beatties Ford Rd. sfar^ ting Friday at 6 P.M The presentation will be “Slaughter” and “Blacula,” two of the most exciting movies in the black film category. Soul brother William Marshall stars as “Blacula”, an African prince transformed into a vampire by the evil Count Dracula. The creation of a black representative of the vam pires . of an African nation beleagured by slave traders seeks the help of the Count in stopping the practice. In stead, the evil lord of the cult overpowers his visitor and dooms him to forever exist as ar member of the undead, dubbed Blacula. The movie also stars Vonetta McGee and Denise Nicholas. “Slaughter” is the 10th movie for ex-football hero Jim Brown. It’s a violent tale of a black loner compelled to, accept teamwork, both white and black, for sheer survival. Brown is an ex-Green Beret unwittingly fighting com puterized crime. Sharing cast honors with Jim in the American International release are Stella Stevens, Rip Torn and Cameron Mitchell. Poole, vice president and manager of North Carolina National Bank s BankAmericard Center in Greensboro, has been named NCNB Marketing Services Division executive here. A 25-year veteran with the bank, Poole served as a head teller, branch manager and operations officer prior to being named vice president and manager of the BankAmericard Center in 1968. A native of Durham, he is a graduate of the School of Banking of tthe South at Louisiana State University. Meetings last Monday in the school’s cafeteria at 8:00 P.M. The final meeting, which opened with devotions led bv co-president Mrs. Tom Mattox,'was highlighted bv the installation of officers for the ensuing year.
