Church News —*— Greater Mount Sinai Church’s No. 1 Choir Will Celebrate Sunday Dy Clarence (_rusnoim Sunday, June 8th, Mt, Sinai observed graduate day with a special service. The speaker was the young and talented _ Rev. Vergil 'Lattimore, 111 a graduate of Livingstone Col lege of Salisbury. The pro gram was presided by Theo philus Woodley. At 3 p.rm Sunday, June 15 Choir No. 1 will celebrate their 41st anniversary. This choir has been one of Mt. Sinai’s most loyal and faithful choirs. The public is invited to be a witness of their marvelous sound. Rev. H. S. Diggs of Mayfield Memorial will be the g4est speaker. Rev. Diggs will -bring his church members and Choir. Greater Gethsemane AME In appreciation of the ser vice rendered by their pastor, 4he Rev. George E. Battle Jr„ the church will sponsor a pro gram in his honor Sunday, July 6th. This : song will be sung by Scottie Hendrick, a well toned bass, t ‘‘Who Hold Tomorrow” an other James Cleveland re cording, will be performed by one of St. Paul’s most talented soprano’s Ms. Naomi Worthy. This will mark St. Paul’s third anniversary, the public is invited to join them on this wonderful musical evening. The accompanist for this en chanted choir is Antioch's own Ivan Davis. The choir will also have a host of other guest artists appearing on the program. Mark this date on your calendar as an evening with St. Paul Baptist Church Choir and guests. This will be an evening you will never forget and will always remem r ber. University Park Baptist Sunday, June 15, will mark University Park Baptist Church’s Annual Men's Day celebration. For this special occasion the men of the church will take charge of the church services. Men’s Day will begin with breakfast at r • — Rev. George E. The speaker for the morning-worship service will be Walter Tucker, church member and executive official of Mechanic and Farmers Bank. The male choir will render the music for the 11 o’clock worship. Second Calvary Baptist Father's Day will be"obser ved during the eleven o'clock worship at Second Calvary Baptist Church where the Rev. J. M. Kennedy is the pastor. Five fathers will be honored during the morning worship. They are Deacon Robert Simmons, Sam Har mon, Deacon G. W. Gilliam, Lewis Kennedy, Deacon Perry Nims, and Alex Elihue. The, first runner-up was Michael Parks, son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Parks. The second runner-up was Brian Moore, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Moore. The church raised $904.77 from the contest. The church honored grad uating seniors last Sunday. She was one of two students from among more than 200 to be so honored. Miss Wilkerson is a recent graduate of junior high school. Rev. J. C.
