CHAKLOTTK POST-Thursday.'August u. 1975 ‘ 1U Bob Johnson COOK OUT FUN Saturday August 9 from 5 P.M. til 12 A.M. the tenants of the Kings Park Apartment complex sponsored their annual cook out for all residents and their guests. Otis Jones, the resi dent manager, spear headed this 8th annual .outdoor function, which featured music by George Ezell, Greasy Brown and their band. Ann McGill, Earlene Dorsey, Louise Holden, Katherine Massey, Joh ann Armstrong, Eietty McKinney and Joann Jones were grand in their preparation and serving of very delectable food cooked by Richard McKinney, Caldwell Cole, Nelson Ho ward, and Elbert Lee Holsey, consisting of fish, chicken, hot dogs and potato salad. There were a multitude of people in attendance at this gala happening. Among them were Jessie Choice. JAZZ TIME....The Astrology Lounge on the corner of Mint and Third Streets is the scene for some fantastic jazz sessions every Sunday night from 10 til 2, featuring some of Charlotte’s best musicians. REUNION BLAST.The members of Second W ard High Schools Class of 1959 are probably still beaming after a very prosperous week end of fun and frivolity composed of a cocktail hour and dinner Friday night, a dy-no-mite dance Saturday night, and a family picnic Sunday. Caldwell Sr., father of the groom and pastor of Faith Memorial Baptist Church He was assisted by Rev John G Whitfield of Gastonia. The bride is the daughter of the late Mr and Mrs. Dewey Hamilton and the foster daug ghter of Mrs, Cecelia J Wilson of 2020 St. Paul St. The groom is the son of Rev. and Mrs. Wilch H Caldwell Sr of 1438 Waddell St Andrew l uthbertson per* formed wedding music for the occassion. The soloist was Mrs. Doris M. Brown Given in marriage by James ' A. Brown, the bride wore a lovely ivory organza gown trimmed in re-embroidered. Nottingham lace. The high rise bodice with high banded keyhole neckline was decorat ed'with lace applique motifs as were the cuffed bishop sleeves. Scallops of matching lace encompassed the empire waistline and bordered the neck, enhancing the same ef fect created by twin bonds of lace encircling the easy skirt. ^doming the bride's head was a lace camelot cap with a lace bordered cathedral length veil. The bridal bouquet consisted of a prayer book covered with white orchids with yellow lips, lillies of the vallev. and a tnnrh nf hahv breaths. Attached white streamers completed the bou quet. Ms. Evelyn Hamilton, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore an apricot gown with a wedding ring collar. It featured beige lace trim around the sleeves and dress. Her headpiece was of an apricot bow to which net was attached. She carried a bouquet of mixed summer flowers. Mrs. Gisle C. Bryant, sister MRS. GEORGE EVANS CALDWELL ...The former Miss Rebecca Marshall 01 the groom, ana Mrs. Phyllis Caldwell, sister-in-law of the groom, served as brides maids. They wore dresses identical to that of the honor attendant. Wilch H. Caldwell Jr., bro ther of the groom, served as best man. Ushers included Wesley Everette, Moise Williams, cousin of the groom, and John Bryant, brother-in law of the groom. For her daughter’s wedding Mrs. Wilson chose a blue or ganza dress with rhinestone trim and white accessories. Mrs. Caldwell, mother of the groom, chose a blue and white chiffon with silver accessor ies. The bride attended Johnson . C. Smith University and Cen tral Piedmont Community College. She is employed by Federal Reserve Bank. The groom attended Kings College and is presently a student at Central Piedmont Community College. He is employed by Wells Fargo Amored Service. Following the ceremony a reception was held in the coup les honor at the Excelsior Club. Music was provided by Ms. Rosella Clemmons.
