Karon Abdul Jobber's Mother I Warm, Affable Mrs. Cora Alcindor Enjoys Visits With Friends Here "I knew it all the time," a warm and affable Mrs. Cora I Alcindor says she jokingly tells her friends when they ask if she had any idea she was pushing around a millionaire 4-- in the beby carriage she used to transport her famous and talented son, basketball star, Lew Alcindor (Karem Abdul Jabbar), during his childhood. Mrs. Alcindor, born in Ansonville, N. C., was in Char lotte this week staying with Mr. and Mrs. Leon Mitchell of 1701 LaSalle Street and visit ing other friends and relatives in the Charlotte area and her home town of Ansonville. She hai known Mrs. Mitc hell since they were 13 years Old and they have been close friends for 26 years while they lived in New York. As the friends chatted last Uinday at the Mitchell home, tfrs. Karem Abdul Jabbar and his wife, Habaiha, have one daughter, 3-year-old, also named Habaiha after her mother. Housewife Alcindor says her hobbies are playing golf and playing the guitar. Her golf, she says, "Is in the learning stage" and she takes lessons from Henry "Hank" Campbell at the Fresh Meadows Muni cipal Golf Course in Queens, New York. She has been studying the guitar for "about 3 years" and takes her lessons from Charlie Jackson, an accomplished guitarist who has played with several top bands. Mrs. Alcindor says she does as much traveling as she can. She has been to Hawaii and plans "to travel around the world"; she especially looks forward to visiting Hong Kong, Africa, Tokyo, and India.
