At this time, 21 lovely young ladies will make their bow to society at 9 p.m. in the Park Center at the twelfth Annual Cotillion Ball. The Cotillian Ball will cli max a number of activities held by the Deltas for the Debs throughout the fast four months. These activities in cluded a game day for Debs, a pajama party , a Christmas party, a parents of Debs day, three charm clinics, and a Debutante Luncheon-Fashion show which will be held April 3 at 11:45 a.m. at the Down towner on McDowell St. Deoutantes featured this week are: Gwendolyn Barrino, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jes sie Barrino, 5329 Evanshire Drive. In January the rate had been 13.2 percent, 13.8 percent in Dec ember and 13.9 percent in N ovember . According to the U.S. Labor Department's Bureau of Lab I ' ■ or Statistics, the jobless rate CfiT white workers continued to decrease - to 6.8 percent in February. It had been 7.1 in January. The Nation’s overall em ployment situation continued to improve in February, as unemployment declined and employment rose. The unemployment rate was 7.6 percent, down from the recession peak of 8.9 percent reached last May. Most of the reduction has taken place in the 4-momh period since Oct ober. Total employment -- as measured by the monthly sur vey of households - moved up slightly in February, as a very large gain in the pre vious month. After plunging by 2.2 million, the employed total has now fully returned to the July 1974 pre-recession peak of 86.3 million A large part of this recovery has been among adult women, as em ployment of adult men was still nearly 700,000 below its high point. Non-agriculture payroll em ployment - as measured by the monthly survey of estab lishments " increased_b£_2l0j C7 000 ip February Since last June's low, payroll jobs have risen by 2 million, still half a million below the September 1974 peak After rising to 3.5 million in January, the number of em ployed persons on part-time schedules for economic rea sons returned to the 3.3 million level that had prevailed since last July.
