He currently holds the office of president of thd Church School Congress of the South Florida District; the assistant recording secretary of the Florida State Convention; fi nancial secretary of the Na tional Primitive Baptist Con vention, and the recording se cretary of the Upper Pinellas Minsterial Alliance of Clear water, Fla. Mount Moriah is conducting a "Period of Prayer and Per sonal Consecration" Thurs day, Friday and Saturday night of this week prior to the revival. The Help And Aid And Brotherhood will lead the ser vices Thursday night, the Daughters Club and Matrons are the service leaders for Thursday night and the Sun day School and Youth Move ment, Junior Ushers, Junior Missionaries and all the young people of the Church will be in .charge of the services Satur day night. tir^ii^ -:„ 1 In the absence of pastor Rev. Sunday, May 16, at 4 p.m. Catawba Presbytery Four persons from the Char lotte area will be among the approximately 700 commis sioners to the 188th United Presbyterian General Assem bly, which meets May 18-26 in Baltimore, Md. Announce ment of the commissioners' election was made by Daniel O Hennigan, stated clerk of the Presbytery of Catawba. Also attending are Dr. Elo Henderson, Unit Executive, Mrs. Doris S. Henderson, and Rev. D.G. Burke. Chosen as youth advisory delegates (with voice but not vote) was Shelton Grier. As voting delegates to the highest policy-making body of the 2.7 million-member deno mination, the commissioners will participate in two key elections, and help decide a number of issues affecting the church. The election of a mo derator (presiding officer and highest elective official of the church) for a one-year term will be among the first actions of the Assembly. Also on the docket is the election of A stated clerk (chief executive officer) of the General Assem bly, for a five-year term. Construction on the kitchen began Friday, April 30. The Rally to finance the addition lasted three weeks. STATESVILLE AVENL'E The members and families ot the Charlotte Chapter of the .North State Law Enforcement Officers Association worship ed with the congregation of the Statesville Avenue United Presbyterian Church on Mo ther's Day. The association was orga nized in 4952 on the state level and since then has now formed districts, with chapters within the districts. The purpose of the associa tion is three fold: Unity among black officers, county and statewide. Upward mobility of Black offi cers. Community involvement.
