NORTH CAROLINA 21204 PHONE 704 332-6101 "Pastor Appreciation Day " Rev.& Mrs.Bailey The Pastor's Aid Club of Seigle Ave Church of God is celebrating our Pastor; W. D. Bai ley's 12th Anniversary on July 4, 1976. Our speaker for the 11 o'clock services will be Henry Caldwell, Asst. Pastor of the church. A musical program will be at 3 p.m. W.A. Bailey was converted and became a member of thé Greenville Church of God August, 1947 during a revival by Horace Shepard of Philadephia, Pa. He served as trustee, deacon, choir member, Jr. and Jr. hi Sunday school teacher, and a member of the Council Board. He was then called to the ministry in 1952. He served in all of these capacities until 1963 when he was voted in as Pastor of the Greenville Church of God the 3rd Sunday in June 1964. IJ^ider his Pastorship we have accomplished so very much. Some of the accomplishments were as follows: the new roofing of the Greenville Church of God. paying off a $900 debt owed on the church, completely remodeling the church with pine putting down a new carpet, buying new pews, a new piano, purchased a new Volkswagon bus and a nine passenger station wagon through the effort of Sis. Maggie Cochran to transport people to Sunday School Then in 1972 due to Model Cities Redevelop· ment wc had to find another piace to worsmp. So we purchased a church building on 20th and Seigle Ave, July 13,1972 After moving to this building we purchased a P A. System, fifteen more pews, remodeled the outside of the church with brick work and boxed in the church outside, purchased new choir robes for the youth choir, bought a new Pulpit and a new collection table, a mimeograph machine, built a new kitchen, purchased three dinner tables and twenty chairs, installed a new furnace, repaired the roof, purchased a new fifteen passenger Dodge bus paiftted the bathroom and basement floor and put a new ceiling in the Pastor's studey. In 1975 we purchased new robes for the Adult choir and in April 1976 carpeted the Upstairs sanctuary and painted the Church on the inside, upstairs and downstair·. In all, there are too many material accomplishments to mention, and we are very proud of them, but most of all we thank God under the leadership of our Pastor we have grown so much spiritually. He is a man of God, an upstanding citizen, a loving husband and father and would be a credit to any congregation. So I say again we thank God for sending us a man likè him and we wish him a Happy I2the Anniversary. βββΜΜΜΜΜίΜΜΜΜΜΜΜΗί » ACCOUNT PAYABLE SUPERVISOR General Contractor is seeK ng innovative and mature individual for the position of Accounts Payable Supervisor.
