Miss Renetta Ethridge Is A Bride Of Hiliary Holloway The lovely Ms Renetta Dor sel Ethridge became the bride of Hiliary Holloway Jr. in a beautiful .ceremony on Satur day, July 31st at 3 p.m. in Statesville Ave. United Pres byterian Church. Rev James E. Arnette, the uncle of the bride, performed the cere mony and was assisted by Rev. G.W. Larkin, the grand father of the groom, of Cincin natti, Ohio. » The former Ms. Ethridge is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ethridge of 2916 South west Blvd. in Charlotte. She is a 1976 graduate of North Caro lina Central State University in DurJ^m, North Carolina. Mr. Holloway is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hiliary Hollo way, Sr., of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is a 1975 graduate of North Carolina Central University, and is pre sently employed by Green Ford Company in Greensboro, North Carolina A wedding reception pro ceeded the ceremony in the Excelsior Club at 4:30 p.m. The couple will be honeymoon ing in New Orleans, Louisi ana, after which, they will reside in Greensboro, North Carolina. The bride wore an elegant nyesta jersey white floor leng th gown with an imported venise lace mandrin collar. It featured a V-neck line with matching lace and pearls. The waistline was empire styled, trimmed with pearls and grac ed by a lovely laced A-line skirt, which was attached with a chapel train. The gown was long-sleeved. Maid of Honor Carol Lester wore a yellow gown. She car ried a rainbow colored floral «ixvo. niLiAKlf HOULOWAY ...The former Ms. Renetta Ethridge UVW|UCl. Rachel Granger was junior maid of honor. There were seven brides maids. Janis Holloway of Phi ladelphia, Pa., sister of the bridegroom, wore a medium blue gown and carried a blue bouquet. Mrs. Patricia Curry of Rich mond Hill, N.Y., cousin to the bride wore a lavender gown, and carried a matching bou quet. Carol Taylor wore a mint green gown and carried a matching bouquet. Kim Nicholas, cousin to the bride, wore an orange gown with matching bouguet. Deborah Reid wore a pink gown. Kathy Gnatt from Roc ky Mount wore a medium blue gown. ' Miss Carol Bernice Blakeney Weds David Michael Bennett Caryle Bernice Blakeney became the lovely bride of David Michael Bennett in an elaborate wedding deremony held at Statesville Presbyteri an Church, Saturday. August 7th at 6 p.m. Dr. Thomas Jenkins was the presiding mi nister. The former Miss Blakeney is a native of Charlotte and the daughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. Linson L. Blakeney. She graduated this year from Duke University with a double major in political science and economics. Her alma mater will serve as her place of employment this fall in the Undergraduate Admissions Office. David Bennett is presently a senior at Duke University and is seeking a degree in political science. He is also a native Charlottean and the son of Mrs. Johnnie B. Evans of 1029 Clanton Road. William BCrtnett, brother of the groom, served as best man in the ceremony and Mrs. Beverly Rodgers, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor. After a large wedding re ception at the “Top of the Tower”, Jefferson-First Union Building, the happy couple went to Freeport for their honeymoon. They will ' reside in Durham, North Caro lina after their return from the Bahamas. Rev. Wilburn Sanders con ducted the ceremony with as sistance from Rev. T.A. Jen kins and Raymond Worsley. William Lindsay served as organist and Jon F. Rodgers MRS. DAVID MICHAEL BENNETT ...She was Ms. Carol B. Blakeney The bride was given in marriage by her grandfather Richard B. Blakeney. She wore a white satin gown with re-embroidered alencon lace and peris. It had a cathe dral train with matching lace. Melusian Rachelle Wright of Durham was flower girl.
