Ed O’Herron has always given more of himself than has been asked. In
World War II, even though draft exempt, he volunteered for the Marines. His
heroism on Iwo Jima earned him the Silver Star.
During three terms in the North Carolina legislature, Ed O’Herron
introduced bills for crime prevention, thougher drug control and community
colleges. He served on the State Advisory Budget Commission and was a driving
force behind lowering taxes for families, the aged and the blind. 6 ,
As a member of the North Carolina Medical Care Commission and many
civic organizations, he worked unselfishly for 25 years to bring better medical
care to all of North Carolina.
1 hroughout his thirty years in business, Ed O’Herron fought against price
fixing by some of the largest corporations in America. '
