Mrs. Juanita Samuels, wife
of Rev. T.W. Samuels of Mt.
Moriah Primitive Baptist
Church on West Trade Street,
directed the first Tom Thumb
wedding recently with Sunday
school members of Mt. Moriah
participating.
"The oldest member of the
wedding party, lO'i year
old Ezell Sanford Jr., was the
minister and was very dyna
mic and quite colorful," Mrs.
Samuels said. Mrs. Samuels
also added that the kids, ages
three to seven, as well as the
parents, enjoyed the wedding
very much.
The bride and groom were
Little Lorna Brown and Mas
ter Willie Robinson. The maid
of honor and best man were
Little Tracy Love and Master
, Sam Givens.
Other members of the bridal
party were bridesmaids. Lit

The wedding had an array of
colors, with girls wearing
gowns of pastel and boys's
suits, with lapels, showed
bouttoniere of rainbow colors.
Mrs. Samuels said the wed
ding was a Sunday school
project that she hoped to make
it an annual event.
1977 Minority Directory Includes 100 New listings
Over 100 new listings will be
included in the 1977 directory
of minority businesses pu
blished by the ChartotteMJusi
ness Resource Center (B*C).
A BRC committee mer re
cently to discuss editing and
publishing of the directory.
The committee is headed by
the Rev. George Battle of
Gethsemanie AME Zion
Church.
Committee members ac
cepted the responsibility ' of
confirming old listings. This
process insures that the direc
tory will be up-to-daW, indi
cated a report on the meeting
from the BRC staff.
The center is a department
of the Charlotte Chamber of
Commerce, under contract
with the Office of Minority
Business, Enterprise, U.S. De
partment of Commerce.
At least 2.0OO directories will
be printed in December, said
the report. All but 320 will be
distributed to local organiza
tions, listees. Chamber mem
bers, major corporations, and
the .library. These 320 will be
retained by the BRC for later
use and another 100 will be

mailed to various individuals.
A section for professionals
will be added. It will list
minority lawyers, doctors and
ministers.
A clip and mail coupon will
also be added to the directory
to enable new listings for next
year.
It was noted in the report
that Southern Bell made its

list of minority companies
available to the committee
The committee meets again
on Friday, October 29, at 11
a m , in the BRC office
