“Christmas A P asan Holidav” By J.M. Little All the world, both ffeligious and secular is now hurriedly preparing to celebrate Xmas. Everywhere there will be a mad scramble to make ready for this great world-wid& event. It will be carried on under the excuse, "We are celebrating the birthday of" Christ." Are you? Let me ask you a question, "Who told you to celebrate the birthday of Christ? Do you have a com mandment in the Word of God telling you to put on a celebra tion? Do You?” I don’t, no where in my Bible do I find a commandment to celebrate my Lord’s birth. I don’t know when he was born and neither do you. The business world capita -1 lizes. and_Qommercializes on this event. And just think, men and-women in and mit nf the church won't mention the Lord’s name unless they link it with profanity and vulgarity. Some of you women here in the office will put up great decorations for this holiday and yet you run from me when ' I try to talk to you about Christ. Isn’t that awful? All year long you won’t talk about I.IU131, yei on me 25U1 of December you say you cele brate His Birthday. What blasphemy! God hates sin. Listen to the Word of God: "Hear ye the word which the _Lord speaketh unto you, O house of Israel: Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutte th a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be-borne, Because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good." Jere miah 10:1-5. Now there’s your tree you put up in December. God hates that thing. It stinks in his nostrils. I know you’ll make all kinds of excuses. But listen, my friend, your excus es will do you no good in the day of judgment. You are going to be tried for the deeds done in the flesh. You may say you are doing it just to give the kids a good time. I can think of many things to give the kids a good time without blasphem ing the name of my blessed Lord. You may come back at me like one woman said, “It doesn’t matter just so they have a good time.” Dear souls, when you are baking and roasting in the lake of fire ten thousand years from today it'll make a difference then but you won’t get out of your punishment for disobeying God. ' I departed from this heathen tradition some years ago. This \ celebration is demon worship.. That’s all ft is , just demon :• worship. You won’t worship my Lord with this heathen , custom. This event dishonors my Lord. Anytime the world runs after something in large numbers, you and I had better be wary of that thing. The world hates God. If you love the Lord how can you link His precious name with all this revelry? The Lord is not pleased with this celebration, i We are told to celebrate His death, not His birth. f You may come back and say I you want to use this time to I Keep your >lessing. woman? You will meet the Lord here or there! You won’t make fun of the truth there that day. There's no way you can escape being judged. Lis ten to the Word of God: "Because He (God) hath ap-| pointed a day, in which he will judge the world in righteous ness by that man (Christ) whom he hath ordained; where of he hath given assu rance unto all men, in that he raised him from the dead." (Acts 17:31). Now there’s God’s promise He is going to judge you by the Lord Jesus Christ. So you, my dear little friend, had better burn your footsteps toward the Lord Je sus Christ. The ressurrection of Christ from the dead is the evidence God is going to judge you. You may go on laughing your way to hell, which you are doing now, but that day of judgment you will have to deal with the eternal Son of God. It would be so far better to deal with Him here and now at a throne of mercy than there at a throne of judgment. You cannot get out of dealing with Him thpro’c nn ncn in * a.. Look at the years you’ve wasted already. Death could come for you any moment. You won’t put any excuse then, you'll have to go. You’re not ready to go the way you are, but ready or not, when death comes you will go. That’s why it’s so important to know the Lord. If you come to know Christ, you’ll have safe conduct. You can’t go on the way you are going. The way you live you’re sucking from the “dry tit” of the world and you’ve sucked it dry and you have nothing. You go here trying to get some pleasure and ease of soul, you go there trying to get some ease of soul, you’re never satisfied. My friend, I’ve been that road you're traveling, it leads to 'ell. I never was satisfied i ntil he Holy Spirit brought me to Christ, He was all I needed. • , 1 THIS IS ' YOUR PAPER use rr BESTSELLER!
