Ernestine Cleveland Reems, pastor of Center of Hope Evangelistic Church, and Maria Gardener, both of Oakland. California, are the speakers Mrs. Reems began her mi nistry 25-years ago after she was “miraculously healed of tuberculosis" in a California sanitarium, said the an nouncement. Revival services will begin at 7:30 p.m. each evening. Once located on Cemetary St., the church moved to 200 Tuckaseegee Road in August. Elder E.C. Cannon, pastor of the church, said the present building site has five acres of land. A portion of the property is used as a recreation area | for youth. Cannon, an Asheville native, has worked in Charlotte for L4-years. He also pastors five additional Church of God In Christ churches. They are Mt. Zion of Lumberton, Greater Cannon’s Temple No. 5 of Fairmount, Greater Cannon's Temple of Maxton, Pember ton Temple of Hamlet and Cannon’s Temple No. 4 of FUfck Hill, S.C. The minister is heard on WGIV radio at 8 a.m. each Sunday. His broadcasts are also carried on WHVN radio from 1:45 to 2 p.m. daily. There are 15 stations broad casting the E.C. Eight young ladies dressed in their finest regalia marched down an isle on the arm of their escorts, said a church report on the contest. Escorts wore dark suits, top hats and carried canes. Runners-up were LaShonda Simpson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alphonzo Simpson, and Twanda Wallace, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wallace. Music for the affair was rendered by Kerry Strong and Miss Ray Brown. Mrs. Mirian Cooper accompanied them on piano. Harold Rice won the door prize. Each contestant received a carnation. The winner receiv ed three pink roses. Flowers were compliments of Miss Ella Mae Marshall.
