'an OPEN LETTER TO SANTA CLAUS
Dear Santa....
It's that time of the year when we have our
little chat. First of all, is time really moving
fast? Or is it that I'm getting old quick? Through
the years I have begged consistently for broads,
booze and loot. Not once did you deliver. Instead,
all I have been receiving at this time of the year
is some old golf balls, a box of cheap cigars and
lots of advise t>n where-to go and enjoy myself.
Can one enjoy himself down there?
Fat Daddy with the fake whiskers there are
other people in this great big world that I
sincerely hope you will treat more generously
this Christmas.
For example, there's Eddie McGirt, the
friendly gentlemen who is head football coach
and athletic director at Johnson C. Smith
University, in addition to wearing many other
hats. You were not very kind to him this past
football season. Shame on you!

boys around the world some nice little girls to
play with? It would also be praise worthy if you'd
let the sun shine in the hearts of all those who
harbor hatred, and you'd do well to extend your
good blessings to both the CIAA and the MEAC,
who will jockey for support of their big
basketball tournaments in February.
How about a great big hand and a stocking full
of greetings for the wonderful job commissioner
Bob Moorman is doing in improving the public
relations of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic
t. Association. Give all the officials of the Triple
r County Semipro Baseball League a well de
served pat-on-the-back for a job well done
throughout the 1976 season.
Remember Charles Williams, my favorite
barber and owner of the House of Charles, with
steadier hands, especially the one that handles
f the razor. Please tell me, ole boy, how is it
possible for you to be in all the department stores
: at the same time? Kinda confusing to the ole
ί lady, eh.! . . " . '■·.

are you still riding around town using reindeers
and sleigh when the swinging cats are wheeling
Mark IV's and Cadillacs? Let the sun shine
brightly in the hearts of all who hate.
If you have some can't-miss Sure Shot shells,
guage 16, leave them at my pad. It is my prayer
that you'll remember to bring better health to all
of the wonderful people who are ill and a broader
outlook to all who are down-in-the-dumps. And
most especially, Santa give all the big boys
around town nice big girls and vice versa.
With all of the praying about Peace on Earth
and Goodwill to Men ; how about a little extra for
the men who referee football and basketball
games. Judging from the comments of the
spectators, Santa you'd think all referees are
cheats and most are blind as a bat.
Let the fishermen keep the big ones that have
been getting away. I am eagerly awaiting the
Super Bowl matchup between Minnesota and
Pittsburgh. Santa could you use a little goofy
dust on L A. and Oakland this weekend? We
don't need any of those upsets.
Don't forget the sun shine in the hearts of those
who hate; happiness to all who are sad; and,
Santa please put a little love in the hearts of all
men so that this will be a better world.
· Finally if you must get stuck in one of the
\ chimnies during your midnight trek, you'd better
$ make sure the chic isn't married!
HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A
:: HAPPIER NEW YEAR!
