Church News Briefs May field Memorial Church Will edicate Its All-New Day Care Center By Gardenia Oalton Post Staff Writer On Monday, January 3, 1977 the Mayfield Memorial Bap tist Church will have a granc opening of its all-new day car« center. In observance of this the church-will host an "Oper House" to be held on Sunday January 2, 1977. The public u cordially invited to visit May field and look over the entire property. Mayfield is an outstanding edifice with 54 rooms on three levels. The main build ing covers more than 25.000 square feet of floor space. The ground floor of the main building also includes the of fice of the Director of Sunday School and BTU, the Senior Citizen's classroom, the Sec retary's office and workroom, the Pastor's office, a confer ence room, the men's and women's lounges, and the Ju nior and Senior Missionaries rooms. Mayfield has an A-l circle of Missionaries. The worship center includes along with the Chapel, the Baptistry and a lovely Nar thex. Mayfield also has a bus ministry with 12 and 15 pas senger mini buses that will provide pick-up and delivery service for the day care center for those who desire it. Basic Adult Education classes for grades 8 and below and Adult Education Classes for high school completion are held on Monday and Tuesday evenings. These classes are sponsored by Central Pied mont Community College who provide the teachers for the classes. Sewing classes are held each Friday evening at the church also. Consumer Education and Music Appreci ation classes are proposed for the future. Mayfield also has a Softball team, "The Mayfield Raid ers," with a development of a basketball team in the mak » ing. There are three buildings on the site, the main building, the Young Adult Missionaries House, and a Scout Hut.
