* Peggy Beck with ...Receive» new honora Beckwith Named ToSCD Board Of Directors Ms. Peggy Beckwith, Execu tive Director since 1972 and Associate Project Director of the Association for Sickle Cell Disease for Charlotte - Meck lenburg, Inc., was elected 3rd Vice-President of the Board of Directors for the National As sociation for Sickle Cell Di ■ <;ease, Inc. at the first Board, meeting for 1977 which was held from January 14 to Janu ary 17 in Baltimore, Mary land. Ms. Beckwith, who is the National Convenor for Public Relations Committee for 1977 and a nominee for WBT's 1976 Women of the Year, said that the Charlotte - Mecklenburg Sickle Cell Association has the only free standard hemoglo binopathy laboratory in North Carolina for diagnosing sickle hemoglobin. Services in this lab are free and diagnosis are available in 24 hours, Ms. Beckwith said.
