FASHION SHOW...The annual show given by I the Women of Amay James Presbyterian Church ! was held last Sunday, January 23, at Bethlehem Center. The theme was "The Sophisticated Moods of 77. The show didn t only have fashions for ; everyone, but entertainment also. There was a ; piano solo, a drill exhibition, a ballet dance and a • soloist. They boasted six categories, with several models in each. There were lovely ladies and children in sleep wear, young men and women in some real eye catching sports wear, school and dress wear. Church Leaders Meet To Combat Hunger In North Carolina By Deborah Gates Post Staff Writer Representatives from the Synod of North Carolina Pres byterian Church, U.S. and the Synod of the Piedmont United Presbyterian Church, USA met at Myers Park Presbyte rian Church on Saturday, Jan uary tO^at 9:30 a.m., to devise ways and means of combating hunger in the state of North Carolina. A proposal is being written with this purpose em phasized. "The group's goal is to attack the problems of hunger in both its root causes and its consequences," said Mrs. An na M. Hood, chairperson of the writing area. According to Mrs. Hood, the group has decided on a long term effort, not less than three years and tne proposal, now being developed, must identi fy with all persons with spe cial needs. The group members, who are hopeful of submitting its proposal to national head quarters before April of 1977, are Rev. Robert Craghead, consultant from the Adminis trative Unit staff, United Presbyterian Church, USA, Charlotte, N.C.; Mrs. Henry L. Harkey, representative from the Presbyterian Coun cil, U.S. Charlotte, N.C.; Mrs. Anna M. Hood, chairperson of ■writing group and secretary of N.C. Edwards con ducted the ceremony at First Baptist Church. The bride is the daughter of Jesse Lee Council and Mrs. Nettie Toomer Council of Fa yetteville. Charles Henry Brown and Mrs. Ella Portier .of Miami, Fla., are thé pa rents of the bridegroom. Stephanie Council, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor and Artice Council was the best man.
