The Chicago-born singer-en tertainer’s tatest album, “All Things In Time,” brought him a platinum record, signifying the sale of 1 million copies. The album’s single, “You’ll Never Find Another Love Like Mine,” won the American Mu sic Award for Best Soul Single. Two of his albums, “Dead End Street” and “Natural Man,” have won Grammy Awards as well as gold records. In addition to his great singing success, Rawls has thrilled nightclub and concert audiences around the world with his dramatic soliloquies, such as “An Old Man's Memo ries,” “Southside Blues” and "Street Corner Hustler Blu es/] New York’s Madison Square Garden several years ago. The frenzied activity by the scores of people directly in volved in the preparations for the heavyweight title fight is shown during the weeks of training prior to the 15-round bout. Ali is in classic style after three years of retire ment, cleverly promoting himself and taunting his oppo nent. With a major challenge before him, Frazier is intense ly subdued and sober-faced. There is a marked contrast when the fight itself takes place and Frazier stalks a sloppy and apparently unen thusiastic Ali. When the lack luster fight is over Frazier has successfully defended his title in a controversial decision victory. “Ali the Fighter” features comments of actor Burt Lan caster, retired boxer Archie Moore, and a montage of film clips of previous Ali victories over Sonny Liston, George Foreman and Frazier.
