I — Alpha Phi Sponsor Luncheon The Alpha Phi Chapter of Theta Nu Sigma National So rority, Inc. sponsored a sorori ty luncheon during the North Carolina National Beauty Cul turist League convention which was held Tuesday, May 3 in High Point, North Caro lina. The purpose of the luncheon was to raise money for college funds that will aid a student who is unable to pay their own tuition. According to a spokes man for the organization, mo ney raised last year was do nated to Livingstone College in Salisbury, However, they are undecided as to what institution will receive the benefits this academic school year. The speaker for this annual event waa Mrs. Esther Wiley, a member of the Alpha Phi Chapter from Durham, North Carolina, and the special guest speaker was Dr. Katie Whickam, National Grand Ba sileus of Theta Nu Sigma Sorority from Washington, D.C. According to the spokes man, a $S money corsage was given to the second prize winner and a $75 money tree was given to the first prize winner as results of a drawing held at the end of the lunch eon.
