That’s when the Mid Eastern Armwrestling Cham pionship of the World Profes sional Arm wrestling Associa tion (WPAA) will be held at the 73-acre theme park. Winners at the Carowinds competition will receive tro phies and free air fare to Houston in November to com pete against other regional winners in the WPAA-U.S. Pro Armwrestling Championship. Over $10,000 in prize money will be awarded at the Hous ton tournament. Registration for the Mid East Championships will last from9:30 to 11:30a.m. the day of the competition and will be open to anyone wishing to compete. The registration fee for en tering the tournament is in eluded in the regular 67 adm mission cost into the park. The arm wrestling competi tions, to begin at l p.m., will be divided into six divisions, four male and two female. The female competition will be divided into a 145 lbs. and under division and an open division.
