YOUNG FREE LANCE MODELERS ...Debra Johnson, Dennis Robinson, Onna Hill, Theresa Pagan Johnson Is “Talk Of Town” By Deborah Gates Post Staff Writer Deborah Johnson, a ’77 gra duate of West Charlotte High School who attended the Troy anne Boss School of Modeling for six months, may just be well on her way to a successful career in fashion. This 5’ 8%” 128 pounder who resides at 1641 Oaklawn Ave nue with her parent Mrs. C.H. Beckwith seems to be the talk of the town along with several other young adults who do free lance modeling throughout the Charlotte community. The group recently modeled during the Cousin’s family reunion and received raves from the Cousin’s, who felt that Deborah, who coorinated their show, and her colleagues were entitled to some publici ty ncii iww ever saying that the group had no name, will label them selves “Deborah’s Fashion Group” for the time being. However success may alter such a situation. Deborah said that she and seven friends do volunteer work for just about anyone who asks them to model. She doesn’t seem to mind that no pay is involved for she said, “It is good practice,” adding, • “We are good friends who don’t like to sit around all the time.” Deborah won't have to wor ry about sitting around much longer lor she is planning to further her studies in fashion at Clark College in the fall. She looks forward to a major in fashion merchandising and home economics there. “I also plan to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York after finishing Clark,” Deborah said. Deborah said she modeled once in New York at the MAA1 Convention where she placed first runner up out of 600 models in the run way compe tition. According to Deborah, most of the models who work with her on free lance jobs are professionals. "The girls who work with me are from the personal development and modeling class I taught at West Charlotte Optional School,” she said. She said that the males in thegroup are modeling as a summertime hobby away from college. MBffQOQQQQQOOOQBt $1.00OFF 11 12’ pc. CHICKEN BUCKET gJ j [ q Includes 6 Rolls & Rice Dressing i | no Reg.
