The number of times school facilities were used increased from 13,968 during fiscal year 1975-76 to 16,380 in 1976-77, an increase of 17 percent. The number of schools used show ed a 3% percent increase over last year, from 751 to 777. The number of community groups using school facilities also increased from 877 to 1,056, a ,19 percent increase over last 'year. While each of these areas showed an increase in use of school facilities, the actual number of hours used de creased slightly from about 65,465 to 63,955. This decrease is probably due to increased school use of gymnasiums this year for girls’ basketball, thus reduc ing the number of hours avail able for community use, ex plains Mrs. Mary Jane Kist ler, assistant for community use of schools.
