ronment of insight and social

The evening of contempora
ry artistry had the mien of a
diamond in the rough.
Shimmers of brillance efflo
resced in a presentation of
Dramatic Readings written
with anTnsight seldom ac
complished. In keeping with
the quality of the material,
members of the company
gave highly artistic deliveries.
The readings, written and
. directed by Bernard White, a
member of EGC, traversed
the scope - birth to death.
Hotsey Street Tonight?,”
choreographed by Jacci Kirk- '
sey began as a still portrait
in dance that aroused both
curiosity and expectations.
Unfortunately, the ingenuity
of the first movement was
lacking in the remaining se
quence.
A poignant one act drama
"The Sirens" culminated this
theatrical experience. 1 ,
The play, depicting profane
social practices, was profound
in language to the extent of
being excessive in some in
stances. Performances by the
cast exemplified sincerity and

its high with dialogue and its
nadir in monologue.
The Ebony Group and Com
pany is developing an organi
zation to be reckoned with in
local live theatre. The curtain

Sports will broadcast the clash
between the Baltimore Colts
and Houston Oilers Sunday,
August 14 at 3:45 p.m. on
WBTV, Channel 3, in the first
of three pre-season contests.
Pat Summerall, play by
play, and Tom Brookshier,
analysis, will be the commen
tators for the game at the
Astrodome in Houston, Texas.

the Cincinnati Bengals tangu
with the Detroit Lions at Pon
tiac Stadium in Pontiac, Mich
igan, Sunday, August 21 at l
p.m., and in a final pre-season
