In one of her infrequent niteclub engagements in the city, in her recent date at Brooklyn’s Smuckers Cabaret she displayed the full range of her many talents as an ac complished Jazz Pianist, a singer who was sensuous, soulful and “down home’’ at times. The club’s 600 integrat ed patrons loved every minute of it and when her one-hour show was over, they showed it in a'ten-minute standing ova tion. From the moment she came ^ onstage, backed by seven mu sicians, Roberta created a mood and a “rap” that let them know that the "boss lady" had taken charge. Much credit for the precise driving music behind her is credited to Mar ry Whitaker, her music direc tor.
