Prophet s Cohim n 66The Wrath Of God” By J.M. Little When I speak of a sinner being made a new creature in Christ, I realize I'm speaking a strange language to the religious world today. Our churches have strayed so far from the truth today until when you listen to the average testimony, or preaching, you weep over the blindness of poor souls who are so ill fAiiffht Paul said: "Therefore in any man be in Christ, he is a new creature:-old things are passes away; behold, all things are become new (II Cor. 5:17). This passage of Scripture embraces the New Birth. Have you been born again? Every saved sinner has been bornagain, or made a new creature in Christ. You hear, once in awhile, some few say they have been bornagain. But as you listen to their testimony, it is void of the work of the Holy Spirit, void of the Person and work of Christ. What is accepted today in our churches as the work of the Holy Spirit is nothing short of the work of demons. The New Birth is God the Holy Spirit taking the Word of God, planting it in the sinners heart and bringing it forth as a new creature in Christ. Every sinner is conceived of the Holy Spirit, and bornagain just as Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit. Read Luke 1 sometime and there you have the way of grace set forth very plainly. In Acts 5 we see another cAaiupc wncii uic widUl U1 God fell upon two souls who lied to God. Ananias lied to the Holy Ghost and kept back part of the price of the land. (Vs. 3) The Lord struck him down right there. And later when his wife . came in she too was struck down. You may not believe the wrath of God, but you are a fool if you don't. The world didn't believe it when Noah told them a flood was coming. But they per ished in the same judgment they had been denying. Ac cording to II Peter 3, God is going to destroy this worth with fire. The skeptics don’t believe it, church members don’t* believe it. Preachers don’t Delieve it. Mo6t of you here today don't believe it. But just as certain as God is on , 4he throne, Ufc t*,gomg*J*„ ’ -destroy this vfaHfr’iHlh fif**'” Where do you stand my fri end? If you turn the truth down you are going to burn my friend. You can try to put these things out of your mind if you want to, but you are going to face reality here or at the Great White Throne Judg ment. It is far better to face your lost condition now, for there is no mercy for you there at the judgment. The eternal question is; do you know Christ? Church membership is not salvation, Christ is salvation. Do you have Christ or church mem bership? How is it between you and Christ? If you know Christ, you have not been appointed to wrath. Listen to the Word of God; “And to wait for his Son frm heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.” (I Thess. 1:10) The wrath to come that Paul is talking about here is the awful tribulation which we told you of earlier. The believer will not go through the tribulation. The believers will be raptur ed. Every believer is looking for the coming of the Lord. r Are you looking for the coming of the Lord? If not then you have to hope. What is your hope? I’m looking for the coming of the Lord, and Chr ist's coming is my hope, He is my hope. Let me read you something I have, two stories. And one of these two applies to every soul in this house For every soul in J. M. Little mis house is headed for eterni ty You are eternity bound The first I shall read is the story of the believer. Listen to it: Jesus my Saviour, to Bethlem came. Born in a manger to sorrow and shame; Oh, it was wonderful-blest be His Name! Seeking for me, for me! Seek ing for me, for me! Seeking for me, for me! Oh, it was wonderful-blest be His Name! Seeking for me, for me! Jesus my Saviour, on Calva ry’s tree, Paid the great debt, and my soul He set free; Oh, it was wonderful-how could it be? Dying for me, for me! Dying for me, for me! Dying for me, for me! Oh, it was wonderful-how could it be? Dying for me! for me! Jesus my Saviour, the same as of old. While I was wand’ring afar from the fold, Gently and long did He plead with my soul, Calling for me, for me! Calling for me, for me! Cal ling for me, for me! Gently and long did He plead with my soul. Calling for me, for me! j«=>us my aaviour, snail come from on high - Sweet is the promise as weary years fly; Oh, I shall see Him descending the sky. Coming for me, for mel Coming for me, for me! E Goraiiigfbr me. for me! Ob. I 1man see Him descending (he sky, Coming for me, for me! Now that's the story of the believer. Now I want to tell you the story of a fool: One day there was a little task, God wanted me to do, But I said, “Lord, You’ll have to wait, I’ve got no time for You.” I have this little child to. raise, And prices are so high; Besides we’ve found a house and lot, We thought we’d like to buy.” So I took on some extra work, No church - I was too tired. But I got up on Monday morning, I had to - or get fired! Then I said, “I'll have to use, The money I owe You. I have so many creditors, Who se bills are coming due. ” And so I went along for years. With never a thought for God; Until one day my little child was laid beneath the sod. The lovelv hnmp U;p'H km i ght for her. Seemed empty now - so bare. In anguish then I turned to God, And cried, “It isn't fair.” That You should take my little one, And cause my wife these tears; When we have been so happy here, These few short, busy years." Twas then I heard the voice of God, Come ringing in my ear “I called upon you once but then, My cry you would not hear. "Now in your grief you cry for me, Why must this sad thing be? Your little child became your god. She took the place of Me.” Oh my dear friend, find time for God, In everything you do If not, you'll find that one day __He, shall have no time for you. "The average person has a right to know these things about the people who are running for office."' stated Bob • Morgan "If the interests of the candidate are in conflict with the interests of those electing him into office, we should know this before the election. We aren't charging that anyone who's running now is suspicious. What we want is a more open govern ment, not a potential Char I rtf tndo I o Hut mn iiinnM IllfA know who files these state ments and who doesn't." L.C. Coleman ran down the list of questions on the state ment: "What we're asking for is just what Carter has with his cabinet and what the State Legislature already has to file. I think this should be a regular thing in every elec tion-full disclosure." Pauline Irvin added, "The little people have very little power in terms of money. They have votes and they have numbers. That's why we have to know these things about the candidates - if they have ties with the rich and the rich are trying to hurt the poor, then the little man needs to know that before he goes into the voting booth.” Carolina Action, a statewide citizens action group working on utility rate reform as well as local neighborhood issues, also issued the call for ethics statements in Greensboro, Ra leigh, and Durham. !
