Davis, Martin Win Summertime Prizes Mr. and Miss Summertime 1978 are lovely little Tamica Martin and handsome James Davis. James, better known as Man, is the son of Ms Pam Davis and James Jackson. Five year-old James states that he enjoys playing football and other games. His winning prizes were a Mr. Summertime Trophy, a Green Machine, and his favor ite, punching ball. Tamica Martin is the daugh ter of Ms. Shirley Martin of 612 Village Court. Four year old Tamica enjoys playing with dolls and listening to music. As^ her winning prizes, Tamica received a Miss Sum mertime Trophy, a bicycle, and a punching ball. Other contestants in the Summertime Pageant were Chico Williams, male runner up, son of Ms. Diane Williams; LaShaundra Sanders, female runner-up, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rober Sanders; Demonica Williams, Daniel Wardlaw, Cassandra Reid, LaTisha Harris, Lonnette Harris, Veronica Deese, Angela McCullous, Sonja Willingham, Sharon Guy, Curtis Mingo, Vesti Neely, Adrian Pendergrass, Laquita Polk and April Josephs. The contest was held June 25 at the Bethelem Center and was the First Annual Mr. and Miss Summertime Pageant, sponsored by the Black Women of Tomorrow Dance Group & Co. The group is under the guidance of Ms. Gloria Ervin and the helpful hand of Ms. Barbara Smith. The members of the group pictured from left to right are Cindy Douglas, Kim Howard, Geraldine Wright. Joan Wright. Aleisa Smith, Ms. Barbara Smith, Ernist Kay, Chris Davis, Tim Clark, Ms Gloria Ervin (instructor), Kimberly Smith, Adrea Stad ford, and Debra Thompson.
