The weekend began with a Banquet & Dance at the Ome ga Fraternity House. On the -program tor uie banquet was .^Rev. C. W. Kerry, pastor, ~ Friendship Baptist Church who gave the invocation, Mrs. Mary Alice Roebuck, solist and family member from Phi ladelphia, Pa. Ms. Jocie Hudley, solist, " ~ accompanied by Tony Brown elegantly entertained the guests during the dinner hour. Rudy Torrence served as Mas ter of Ceremonies. More than 70 guests and family members danced to the Disco music of ·"·" Freddie Hemphill. Saturday, a cook out was held at the spacious estate of Mary & Chauncy Jones, Lake view Road. Family members -· and friends had a golden • : :· opportunity to get to know r.J each other better. Elaborate . conservation and interaction among family members were . in evidence as they searched back into their roots and authenticated their kinship. CMS Appoints . Meredith Visual : Arts Specialist Dr. Kenneth R. Meredith has been appointed curricu lum specialist for visual arts. He will be responsible for - developing visual arts curri culum for grades kindergar ten through twelve and for Π planning inservice for staff. A graduate of East Carolina University, Meredith has the M.A. in ceramics from East Tennessee State University and the Ed. D. in art education from Indiana University. Meredith has had extensive experience in art education at flipnentary, secondary and cwlege levels.
