Principal findings of the initial study are Similarities in beliefs and functions are greater than differences across denomina tional lines College Blacks do not aban don the church Clements of Black preaeh sng style and music are evi denced in worship across denominational lines and socio-economic groups. CLINTON CHAPEL AMEZ The Youth Program of the Clinton Chapel AMEZ Church will soon come to a close. Approximately two months ago this organization involved youngsters from the ages 6-10 in activities that were not onlv tun but educational. Some of the activites were skating parties, bowling, a trip to the museum in Rock Hill South Carolina, and lots of swimming on those very hot summer days we had. Each participant in the program was also an active reader. Through the public library here, those reading ten books or more were able to go to Carowinds free. A trip to Black Mountain and Camp Dorothy Walls is in the mak ing as one of the last advent ures the youngsters will pur sue as a group this summer. This trip will be a weekend of camping and an enjoyable time is expected to be had by all. FAITH MEMORIAL The 8th Annual Church An niversary of Faith Memor al Baptist Chruch will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday September 3. Rev. J. C. Robins of Mt. White was held recently by the church congregation of Walls Memo rial AMEZ Church On this program were repre sentatives from the following church organizations, the Music Dept.; Worth Williams. Youth Dept ; Cynthia McCul lough and from the Day Care Center Mary McGee. Each of the representatives spoke on their pastors abilities from a humorous standpoint A special surprise for the pastor and his wife was the unexpected arrival of both of their immediate families. At the culmination of the program the congregation presented the pastor with a love gift. ' SHILO INSTITUTIONAL The Men’s Club of the Shilo Institutional Baptist Church will sponsor a trip to Atlanta, Ga . on Saturday September 9. This trip will include a tour of the •greater'' Atlanta Area and an opportunity to attend a baseball game between the Atlanta Braves and the Los Angeles Dodgers. The round trip fare is $22 and includes the price of admission to the game. The bus will leave the church grounds on Satur day morning at 7 a m. and will return that night, after the game.
