THEATRE brings one of
America’s most beloved act
resses to the local stage in
‘‘Butterflies Are Free”, a
comedy that ran for two years
on Broadway, and several
successful tours of the United
States, and left a wake of
laughter all over the world.
Joan Bennett was bom in
Palisades, New Jersey, the
youngest daughter of famed
actor, Richard Bennett, and
his actress wife, Adriene Mor
rison. She is the sister of the
late actresses, Constance and
Barbara Bennett.
Miss Bennett has made over
seventy motion pictures of
which her favorites include

Brock Petals To Star In New “Roots”
Brock Peters has been
signed to play a starring role
in David L: Wolper’s product
ion, “Roots: The Next Gene
rations,” it was announced by
producer Stan Margulies.
Peters plays a sharecropper
who bucks the system during
the Depress ion era in the ABC
Novel for Television based on
additional stories from Alex
Haley’s “Roots” as well as
material from his new book
“Search” and 800 pages of
notes not included in his
books.

been found drained of blood
with puncture marks on their
neck. There is a reporter,
Harker, who falls in love with
Wilhelmina. A delightful luna
tic keeps turning up and of
course, their new neighbor,
Count Dr a cula. There is
Professor Van Hcfstag . who
suspects the count to be a
vampire.
