Wiiiie J. Stratford has been
appointed Manager of Retail
Sales at Charlotte, as Public
Relations Officer for the Char
lotte Council of Federal Agen
cies, as well as the Carolina
District, U.S. Postal Service.
Stratford said Monday that
his main focus is to develop a
public relations program that
will “portray a positive image
of (^postal services.” “The
program will include external
and internal activities," he
continued, “and we will be
involved in the community
whenever we can.”
The new program will also
stress tours of the facilities
and invite groups in for meet
ings. The staff will be involv
ed in community type activit
ies so they may contribute to
making the Carolinas a “bet
ter place to exist."
“We will also be involved
with the print and electronic
media on a truthful basis,"
Stratford said, “so that we can
freely and openly discuss pos
tal business.”
He concluded that they just
wanted to be good corporate
citizens in North and South
Carolina-“the kind of image
that we need."
Each Sectional Center will
appoint a Public Relations
Representative who will also
incorporate these points into
their - operations.
