HELLO!.It’s that time of year again. Even
though, the sun’s rays still bake the skin, air
conditioners operate constantly and the leaves
are still green on the oaks, the feeling of Fall is in
the air. This energetic feeling is exemplified in
part by the color and pageantry of the ever

Football is a sport, a «t

with the Aggies of A&T, and picked up some
Charlottes ns on the way.
The game was a close affair til the 4th quarter,
when the muscle and might of the Orangeburg
machine proved to be too much for the scrappy
Greensboro s c h o o 1,.
About 15,000 plus fans filled the seats, the
grounds and the surrounding areas of Memorial
Stadium to witness what turned into an eventual
rout.
Am one the manv DeoDle that witnessed this
clash of powers were Jake Suggs, Willie Waddell
Vinson and Pat Thompson from Orangeburg,
Curt Ardrey, Raymond Holman, Steve Edney,
Charles and Elizabeth Ingram, Lawrence Pett
ice, Sammy Stroud, and Calvin Rogers.
COLISEUM JAM.... Immeidately following
the game at Memorial Stadium, the Coliseum in
Greensboro lit up with the sights and sounds of
— two fantastic rock groups.
Taurus~ProducQons Drought LTD and the
Commodores into this spacious arena for a good
rocking party that lasted from 10 ’til l a.m.
The feeling of the people in the street was that,
even though the Commodores have the hit tunes,
the experience, and a super show, LTD put on a
better performance.
Some of the people crowded into this nacked
house were Sandra Green, Mary Long, Victoria
Boyce, Mr. and Mrs Paul Ingram, Darryl Steele,
Christopher Brown, janetHall, Stephanie Little,
Randolph Black, Thomas Brennon, David
Smalls, Wendy Little, Barney Trapp, Debbie
Holmes, Eric Bundy, Lisa Hall and ‘Perry

GLADNESS and SADNESS....Last weekend
was a time of opposite ended feeling for those
Smithites that traveled from Charlotte to Rich
mond for the football contest between our own
Golden Bulls and the Panthers of Virginia
Union.
In the football game, the Bulls were really
troubled, which accounted for the low feeling felt
by the smith fans.
However, Dr. Wendell Beam hosted an excit
ing cookout for the fans from Charlotte and
Washington, D.C. This culinary function came
complete with all the trimmings, designed to add
to an evening of fun.
Among the people that were caught up in the
different moods set by the climate of events in
Richmond were: Rudv Torrence, Eddie Ingram,
Gussie Floyd, Barbara Floyd, Clyde Brown,
Alston Bellamy. David Owens, and Eddie
Slack Steele, Barbara Steele, Bin uoies, Vanessa
Worsham, Deborah Wadsworth, Willie Walker,
Joyce Miller, Charles and pat Foster from
