ttA < • ^ ”01 accepting Amazing Grace” hv .lien I iHU -- "For by GRACE are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast. (Eph. 2:8-9). Every sinner who has ever been saved or ever will be saved is saved by grace. Every sinner who is saved had nothing to do with his salva tion. 1 had nothing to do with my salvation, and I’m glad no man had anything to do with my salvation. I’m glad I can say with that old divine of old; “Amazing grace! how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now I'm found. Was blind but now I see." * Yes, it is amazing grace, the matchless and marvelous grace of God that awakened me to my lost condition when I was running^ at break-neck speed on the road to Hell. It’s no disgrace to be lost, but rather, it is much grace to be awakened to your lost condi tion now here in time while there! is still mercy. It was the grace of God that showed me that I was a wretch, a Devil's raRlawav It woe aro/w> that showed me I was blind, and grace that made me to see, to see that Christ died for me. ‘‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, And grace my fears relieved; How precious did that grace appear the hour I first.believed.” / When I was under Holy Spirit Conviction, I was fear ful that sinning against a thrice Holy God would forever shut me out of the grace of God. I was fearful of gning to sleep at night, knowing that if I were to die in my sleep, I'd wake up in Hell. I was fearful of talking to people because I thought I might lose those precious convictions the Holy Spirit was giving me. But one glaa day, grace relieved all my fears when Christ was revealed to my heart In that hour of first having Christ revealed to my heart; how precious He was. He made me to rejoice in Him. The burden of gin fell off my _ back and I was made to rejoice in Christ with such joy I had never dreamed of. I’m not talking about witness in the churches today. I’m talk ing about the quietness of that hour when the Lord was re vealed to my heart as my Lord Anri mvftAvinnr nvpr «iv vmi*c ago mjr Dei lever, think back to u» time God saved you. Isn’t it the greatest thing in the world to know Christ? I know that is so, and I would not exchange what I have in Christ for ten thousand worlds of gold and silver, no I would not, would you? It means something to be saved. Unless you are saved you don’t know what I am talking about. Am I talking your language? "tWTmsny dangers, toils and snares, I have already come; ‘Ti8 grace has bro't me safe thus far, And grace will k»Q me home.” Can you say that? 1 can trust ties No matter how Satan Fights me, I may seemingly be so down and out all I can do is groan. But I know, some how, I ,\J. M. Little the I^nrH _ n. The grace of God will lead me home. This world is not my home. I am a stranger and pilgrim here (Heb. 11) This world cannot attract me to want to stay here. I am looking for a city, whose Builder and Maker is God, my heavenly Father. Are you? Over there, where Job declar ed that the weary will be at rest and the wicked will cease from troubling. I'm looking for the coming of my Lord back for me. Are you looking for Him? I’m glad I can say with the apostle Paul; “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” Yes, to go home with Christ is gain. When you earthlings die, you have noth ing to gain, you leave behind all the pleasures your heart has ever desired, so for you to die Is the loss of you* poor soul in hell. "The Lord has promised good to me, His Word my hope secures; He will be my shield and Portion be-As long as life endures." Not only has my Lord pro mised good to me, He is good *v « rwu me in uiai He delivers me daily. He keep6 me day by day. 1 may not believe, but yet He is faithful. “Yes, when this flesh and heart shall fail, And mortal life shall cease. I shall poss ess, within the vail, A life of joy and peace.” To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. One day I’ll drop this old flesh and rise, to seize the everlast ing~-priieJ’oJ>e with Christ forever more. You~caii laugh and make fun of me all you want to, you'd give ten thou sand worlds to be in my place, if you only knew. “The earth shall soon dis solve like snow, The sun for bear to shine; But God, Who call'd me here below. Will be for ever mine.” God is going to destroy this world with fire according to 11 Pet. 3. But it was He that gave me the Effectual Call, He will forever be mine. “When I’ve been there ten thousand years, Bright shin ing as the sun. I’ve no less days to sing God’s praise - Than when I first begun.” I’ve been weeping for many of you as I have sat here writing this message. When I have been in Heaven ten thou sand years, you will have been in hell ten thousand years. Oh My friends! My friends! Don’t neglect the salvation of your souls. So many I have seen turn away from &e truth. Satan will tell you some lie on me, and you'll never believe the truth I tell you, therefore, you can never be saved. How shall you escape the damnat ion in hell if you neglect the salvation of your soul? You will not escape. Flee to Christ! May the Lord turn you onto Himself, especially YOU. If the Lord saves you, you U never get over it, you don't want to get over it. 1 praise the Lord for saving me. And I can rejoice with you who are saved Praise the Lord! The greatest thing in all the universe is just to know Christ. Are Cancer Longer Today? Advances in detection and treatment of cancer have led to marked increases in five year survival rates aft. >et ection of cancer. About one of every three cancer patients in the United States survives at least five years after detect ion, as compared with long term survival for only about one in five patients in the late 1930’s. About two million Ameri cans are alive today and free of cancer five years after treatment. An additional one million cancer patients diag nosed and treated during the last five years will live to join these ranks. The steady lengthening of lifeUmes for paUents with many forms of cancer is due to several factors. A greater number of cancers are diag nosed today at a localized and more controllable stage. “Woman Of Year’’ Nomination* for the 24th annual Woman of the Year award are now being accepted by WBT Radio The award honor* a woman for outstand ing contributions to the life and progress of the Charlotte Mecklenburg community in one or more important fields during 1978. When an easement has been acquired, it becomes a part of the real property to which it is attached. ^ y Easements do not interfere with a property owner’s right to use his property as he sees fit, as long as he does not interfere with the easement holder’s rights. For example, utility company easements over a person’s land do not prevent him from using the land, but he must allow the utility company free access according to the easement. The owner of the land keeps possession of the property and can use it for any purpose not in conflict with the easement holder’s easement. The holders of the easement has a right to use to property for a specific purpose but has no other rights. easements are created in several ways, the most common being by deed. They may also be created by operation of law by necessity or by long continued use. The termination of easements can likewise occur in several ways. If the reason for the easement ceases to be then the easement ceases with it. Deeds are also used in the termination of easements, both the specific design and by transfer without transfer of the easement with the deed In general, easements will not interfere with an owner’s enjoyment of his property; however, it is helpful to know if any easements apply to your property and exactly what they are. A quick look at a survey of your property or a check of the deed should spell out any that would apply to you property. _• Send any questions about real estate to: REAL ESTATE ANSWER BOX 1432 E77U1 Street-— Charlotte, N.C. 28204 ^__ ^ j No Curbside Next Week I Remember!
