This delightful animation re
creates the wonder-filled night
two thousand years ago, when
legend has it, that animals
first talked.
The story begins on a cold,
crisp winter nignt in Betnie
hem and all the animals are
snug in their mangers. Sud
denly a man and a woman who
is expecting a child arrive on
their donkey at tha barn door,
seeking shelter. The animals
are filled with confusion-and
the sudden ability to express
their feelings in words. The
animals will not move to make
room for the donkey. The dog
pleads for the UBfe to
accept their visitors. Confused
by their wondrous gift, the
animals first abuse it - behav
ing with envy, spite and self
ishness - just as human· do.
The the miracle begins with
thelWh of the child and all
behave with compassion and
good will toward each other. ,
