"In The Twinkling Of An Eye"
oyJ.M. Little
If I coold live to be a million
years old, I'd never forget the
time God awakened me to my
lost condition. I'll never, no
never forget that eerly noon I
got up that morning rejoicing
in the creation more than the
Creator.
I went out that early morn
ing looking at the trees that
were hanging with ice. Tree
tops were bent over, they were
so heavy with ice and some of
the tope touched the ground.
My heart was so thrilled with
all that natural beauty in
nature. Ice on the trees, ice on
the grass all across the fields.
I took several pictures with
my camera. I was so thrilled
with all that beauty I did not
know what to do.
Some hours later In the
early noon of that day, the
Lord spoke to my heart, show
ing me that I was lost and had
never been saved. All that
beauty in the world in my
heart went out. I was as one
who had the world on his back,
lost and had never been saved.
Not knowing at the time that
vation is of the Lord (Jonah
ι), I set out to try to make
myself presentable before
God. But the Holy Spirit
taught me as He brought me
down the pathway of grace
that Christ and Christ alone
could save me. He slowly
convinced me of sin, righte
ousness and judgement (John
16:17;. 1 came to see what a .
totally depraved sinner 1 was.
And when He showed me that
there was nothing I could do to
save myself I almost died. My
friend, if you cannot go back to
the time God awakened
you to your loet condition, you
are not saved. Joining the
church is not being awakened
to your loet condition. If you
ever are awakened to your lost
condition, church member
ship will become sickening to
you.
It was also in the early noon,
one Saturday that God saved
me, in February of 1972. When
the Holy Spirit brought me to
the place I wanted Christ
more than anything else, and
gave me grace to turn my
back on everything and every
body. He revealed Christ to
my heart. When the Holy
spirit began to open my heart
that day, I thought I would
never get out of that condition
ΐ£βΙ was in. When He opened my
B there, I tried to shrink back
from it but He held me right
I there until He delivered me. I
saw the reality of Hell in'my
own heart, my unbelief, my
hatred for God, His Word, and
His servants. It killed me to
see it. I threw up my hands
and resigned to go on to Hell
where I belonged. Just a few
minutes later there came a
revelation to my heart;
"Blessed are they which are
called to the marriage supper
of me tiab" law. ι».», ι
aan v/iuui lusu uiraseo me
from eternity to eternity and
that I could never could per
ish. All my sin burden rolled
away and 1 was made to
rejoice in Christ. Salvation
comes to the human heart by
REVELATION only (Matt.
16:17). If Christ has not been
revealed (Gal. 1) to your
heart, then you are not saved!
If you do not know what it
means for Christ to be reveal
ed to your heart, then you are
not saved! Has Christ been
revealed to your heart? Can
you go back to when you were
lost? When were you awaken
ed to your lost condition? A
man can receive nothing ex
cept it be given him from
heaven. Can you go back to
where and when all hope was
gone and there you were stan
ding before God with all hope
gone and you saw no way out?
The only thing to do was just
go on to Hell? Can you? If not,
you are not saved. If you don't
know Christ you are not saved.
God saves you in the twinkling
of an eye, that brings us to our
subject at this time.

living believers when Christ
comes back in the air for His
saints. The Second Coming of
Christ is my hope. I look daily
for His soon coming. My
friend, when I say-He's soon
coming, I mean exactly that.
Any moment now, my Lord
may break through the blue,
coming for His own. I praise
the Lord I'm one of His own.
Are you? Are you looking
daily for His coming? Are
you? If not, you have no hope,
hr a-world of violence, blood

So many today take the Sec
ond Coming of Christ as just
an event. The Second Coming
of Christ will not be an event to
me. But it will be the personal
return of my Lord. How will it
be for you?
Some call it the Rapture of
the church, it is, praise the
Lord. Or you may just want to
call it the TRANSLATION.
Every born again believer
looks daily for the coming of
the Lord. Every awakened
sinner is afraid the Lord will
come before he is saved. How
is it with you? Do you know
Christ? Many times I try to
think of what it will be like
when my Lord comes. I love to
meditate on His soon coming.
Yes, my Lord is coming soon.
When He comes, some will
be taken and. others left. List
en; "Then shall two be in the
field; the one shall be taken,
and the other left. Two women
shall be grinding at the mill;
the one shall be taken and the

Not the other fellow, but you.
Will you be taken out?
How sad will be the case of
you who will be left bëhind.
You will be left behind to go
through the awful tribulation.
Some of you wives will be left
behind. When I think of the
sadness of the ones of you who
you have sat there looking at
her acroes the breakfast table
year in and year out. She
cares nothing about the claims
•of Christ on her heart.
You've pleaded and pleaded
with her to no avail. She'll be
left behind. I believe It wilt be
night in America when Christ
comes. America will awake
the next morning to find her
salt gone. You may go to bed
that night the Lord comes for
you. Sometime during the
night, your wife will discover

will remember- 'Then shall

who witnessed to you and

the coming of the Lord, we
laughed at them, called them
a bunch of fools, now, they are
gone and we are left behind.
You'll begin to see a string
of violence spring up and take
the world like wildfire, and
you will wonder what now for
those of us who were such

The awful. tribulation des
cribed by the Lord in Matt. 24,
Mk 13, 21, Rev 6-19, and in
Daniel, will take place my
friend. Will you be here to go
into the Great Tribulation? If
you dôil't tuiii tu Christ you
will.
Most of my family will be
here; it saddens my heart
beyond words of expression to
think of the judgment that is
going to fall on you because
you rejected the Gospel and
would not have this Man to
rule over you.
When you are left behind,
you'd give te*i thousand

that you are gone, you aren t
in bed. She may think that you
are just in the bathroom, after
awhile, when you haven't re
turned to bed. she'll call out
for you, but you won't be able
to answer her call because you
are not there! In the twinkling
of an eye, when Christ came.
He took you without waking
her. She will get up and look
around the house for you,
calling you in vain-you are
nowhere to be found. She
panics, wondering where you
could have gone at such a late
hour. It may be three in the
morning. You never got up at
that time before, so she soon
realizes something is serious
ly wrong. Then she dashes
back to the bedroom and finds
that the bed covers are in
place on your side of the bed
just as though you were still
there. She looks again and
finds that your shoes are just
where you left them when you
went to bed. Shock grips her
heart; Oh where can he be?
Where is he?
You are gone with your
Lord. She may put in a call to
police headquarters to find out
if they know anything about
you. She'll be told by a police
officer that the switchboard
has been flooded with calls
during the night of the myster
ious disappearing
of persons from every walk of
life, disappearing without
making a sound. Disappear

In the early morning hours,
radio, TV, telephones, and all
communications media carry
reports of missing persons,
those who have mysteriously
disappeared during the night.
