ASC Announces
Three New Affiliates

making. In addition, they are
actively involved in shows and
exhibitions which are open to
the public.
The Charlotte Film Makers
is a new organization that_
promotes film making' as an
art form by sponsoring a local
film makers' showcase, a film
making workshop, and a home
movie festival. They are also
anticipating additional in
volvement on a state-wide
basis in the near future.
Promoting local chamber
music interest and involve
ment, the Chamber Music
Society of Charlotte has al
ready organized a complete
78-79 season of afternoon con
certs at the Circle Theatre in
the Mint Museum of art. The
Society is also planning addit
ional concerts in the Char
lotte-Mecklenburg area in the
next few months.
The Arts and Science Coun
cil of Charlotte is pleased to
announce the addition of three
new affiliate members to the
Council. The Charlotte Print
makers Society, the Charlotte
Film Makers, and the Cham
bers Music Society of Char
lotte have-all· been approved
by the ASC Board of Direct
ors, fringing the Council's
total affiliate members to 52.
In announcing the three new
affiliates, Halsey North, Exe
cutive Director of the Arts
and Science Council stated,
"We are proud of the diversity
and new ideas thesp groupe
can contribute to ASC. Their
interest simply illustrates the
wide range of arts involve
ment in our community, and
we are certainly looking for
ward to working with them."
