Henry L Dock ...Eaual opportunity officer Henry L. Dock Joins Army Recruiting Team Fort HuachacM, <uis. - Henry L. Dock has joined a recruiting team that is " seeking graduate electronic engineers for federal civil service with the U.S. Army Communications Command (ACC) here. As part of his duties on the team, pock will assure women and minorities will be given every opportunity to apply for professional jobs in the command. An equal opportunity officer for Fort Huachuca, Dock graduated from California State University at Los Angeles prior to earning a master’s degree in psychology from the University of Por tland in 1965. “Our most urgent need,” Dock said, “is for engineers competent in the areas of systems, transmissions, switching, data terminals, telecommunications processing and systems control. "We are seeking both the journeyman and the recent graduate,” he said. "Jour neyman will fill full-demand positions, while new graduates will undergo brief on-the-job training with on line responsibilities com-1 mensurate with ability.” Among the types of! telecommunications installed and operated by the world wide command are digital secure voice and data tran smission, computer controlled' switching, and such special]' systems as the Washington-to Moscow Hot Line satellite' link. Dock said that because of the command’s fixed-station, role and almost total use of commercial communications equipment, the type of work affords employees the op-, portunity to stay current withi industry state-of-the-art! equipment, thereby providing' for career growth, both in and! our of government. "The work includes designing and upgrading such a variety'of communications systems that there is little risk of being mired in a narrow specialty field,” he added. > Dock noted the bulk of the career Civil Service positions { are in southern Arizona and require temporary travel to field locations for follow-up phases of installation, test and evaluation, and! troubleshooting.
