Karen Smith will star as the plucky Anne, whose writing has become an important testament to human dignity. Jerry Moore and Dottie Tobias will play her indo mitable and patient parents. He’s none other than Jet Brown, the singer for the hit “Ain’t that Enough For You.’’ And if you re into disco you'll definitely be into Jet Brown Born in Philadelphia, November 15, 1953, Brown began his musical career at the age of seven. He studied piano and theory at the Settlement Music School for five years. After that he furthered his musical foundations with private instructions until the age of six teen. During this time, Brown was one who aided local church activi ties, and sought harmony between gang members and community groups. At the age of eighteen. Brown was writing his own material and performing locally with a band he formed called Footloose From this point Brown formed another quartet and began operat ing through the strain of the Black musical gift to America - jazz. When John Davis heard the voice of Brown he knew this was the singer for his latest project. The Monster Orchestra. You could say Brown' is the protege of Davis. Whatever the case, the combina tion sung their way into the hearts of the delicate disco dimension of America. Affiliation with hits like “Be Thankful For What You Got" and “I Just Can’t Say Goodbye,” and made John Davis one of the most admired producers of disco-orient ed music. He and The Monster Orchestra have tunes ranging from "The Magic Is You," to "Up Jumped The Devil.” Davis has managed to write, produce or arrange for such greats as Ashford and Simpson, Lou Rawls, The O’Jays, Johnny Mathis, The Stylistics, John Travolta, Diana Ross and many more. North Carolina WSOC-TV To Present Donna Summer Speeial Donna Summer, the reigning queen of disco, will star in her first network television special, "The Donna Summer Special," on ABC WSOC, Sunday, January 27 at 10 p.m. With Robert Guillaume of ABC's "Benson” as her guest star and cameos by Debralee Scott, Twiggy and Pat Ast, the hour features the intense excitement of a concert attended by 17.000 cheer ing fans at the Hollywood Bowl, where Ms Summer sang her big gest disco hits. In between, Donna demonstrates her musical range, which goes from lullabies, gospel songs and a medley of 1930’s tunes to the crowd-thrilling beat of the disco hits for which she is most famous WBTY News Looks At Kurt* Relations "WBTV News Special Edition" will take a look at the turmoil and racial tension in Chester, S.C., where citizens are upset over the controversial death of black teen ager Mickey McClinton, Sunday, January 27 at 6:30 p m on WBTV, Channel 3.
