Prophet's Column “F alse Doctrines” By Jim Little I am glad to greet you again in the name of my crucified, buried, and risen Lord, who alone is my salvation The greatest thing in all the universe is to know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and your Saviour Over the last almost eight years since we have been putting our messages in print, we have been telling how God saves a poor hell-deserving sinner and setting forth the great ' doctrines of the Word of God. All I can do is tell you what the Lord has done for me in salvation. 1 cannot tell you a thing which I have not experienced. I can only tell that which is a living reality to my heart If you have ears to hear, immediately you will say; "that is how God saved me." Over the last several years many false doctrines have sprung up and are growing by leaps and bounds and running like wildfire. It is my responsi bility, as a servant of the Lord to not only set forth the truth as it is in Christ, but at the same time ex pose error, warning sin ners that they will not be led astray by every wind of doctrine. I he false doctrine that 1 am exposing at this time is the teaching that; “Sal vation is the written Word of God." Multitudes are being led astray by that doctrine today, and it is alarming because many so called fundamental preachers are preaching that. They base their doc trine on some Scriptures from the first chapter of the Gospel of John as fol lows: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God." (Jn. 1:1-2) Now, they take those two verses and say that the written Word, our Bible, was in the beginning with God and was God. And they go on to tell you that by believing the Written Word you are saved. If I have ever seen the Devil fool poor souls, you who teach that believ ing the written Word is salvation are the biggest beguiled souls I have ever seen. Now listen to me if you can. In the first place the sinner has no saving faith to believe the written Word of God. A sinner under Holy Spirit Conviction knows he has no faith to believe the Word. But you have never seen that. You may believe the Word historically, all about Christ’s coming and dying on the cross; butthat isn't salvation^ Believing intellectually does not save the soul. You can believe the Word from cover to cover and yet go to Hell. You can go to Hell with the Bible in your hand Now when I make statements like those you are ready to condemn me to a fiery furnace. Let me explain some thing to you if you can hear; my Bible, from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21, all 66 books, 39 in the Old Testament, 27 in the New Testament, all these go together to make up the entire written Word of God to us The written Word of God, apart from the agency of the blessed Holy Spirit is powerless to save the least of sinners If the written Word alone could save you, there would be no need for the Holy Spirit and His work under conviction. The Ask for me at Callaway Cadillac: W.J. Jant The man to see for the best deal on your "NEW" Cadillac. Olds mobile or Used Car. Callaway Cadilac & Oldsmobile Inc. Hwy. 74 Monroe, 372-3244 Charlotte 289-5477 Monroe Jim Little written Word did not die for a sinner. If the written word alone could save sin ners, then everyone who would read it and profess the least to believe it would be saved I liuoc UI JUU WIIU ICOUI that salvation is believing the written Word, I have found this about everyone of you; you are total stran gers to Holy Spirit Convict ion, you do not know true heart-felt Bible repent ence, you know nothing about a hard heart of un belief, you do not see the judgment this world is un der, and you know nothing about the REVELATION OF CHRIST to the human heart. You are also warped and twisted in your doc trines, you place the church in the tribulation . period, thereby making (Jod collect a sin twice. Now let me state it very clearly; The Bible is the written Word of God, my Bible I now have here lying beside the typewriter. It is verbally inspired, absolute, eternal, unbroken. It was penned by holy men of God as they were moved by the Holy Ghost (II Pet. 1:21). .. _ i But until the Holy Spirit awakens you (Eph 2:1), that is makes yeu alive, the written Word ^o you is no more than an almanac, why? Because you have not been bornagain to see ei ther its judgments or mer cies That’s right Building INSPECTOR Salary $13,720-$ 17,509 Works in the inspection of construction of exist ing buildings and of new buildings at various stages of their con struction for com pliance with the State Building Code.
