Prophet's Column
"To My Fellow Pilgrims"
By Jim Little
We are rapidly coming
down to the end of this age,
that is the age of the
Gentiles, and also it is the
age of the church As each
day comes and goes Satan
steps up his battle against
the believer. Personally,
Satan has come at me this
year with all four feet as it
were. And as someone
rightly said; "I can see
Satan standing behind you
with his sword drawn to kill
you." But, oh, my dear
fellow pilgrim, the battle
will soon be over. We'll be
safely home with our Lord
at last.
Yes, I long for the re
demption of my body. One
day in time God called me,
and then He justified me,
and praise His name, one
day He is coming to glorify
ine. (Rom. 8:30) And when
I get to the end of the way,
the trials will seem as
nothing. For our dearly
beloved brother Paul said
that our light affliction is
but for a moment. Yes, the
years you and I spend here
on earth, no matter how
long they seem to be, are
just a flicker in comparison
to the time we shall spend
in eternity with our blessed
Lord. I'm tired of all this
mess down here.
When our Lord was on
the way to the cross He told
the disciples; "Verily, veri
ly, I say unto you, That ye
shall weep and lament, but
the world shall rejoice ; and
ye shall be sorrowful, but
your sorrow shall be turned
into joy." (Jn. 16:20) Those
Words by my Lord give me
great encouragement at

under the rod and lash of a
great slander campaign all
this year. But, oh, the
grace of my Lord. But isn't
it grace to know that all my
sorrows shall be turned to
joy. It is the greatest thing
in all this universe just to
know Christ. My Lord and
my Saviour.
You and I who know the
Lord have everything to
priase the Lord for. But for
the grace of God, we would
be in the shoes of the
ungodly. Aren't you glad
the Lord saved you? I am.
Christ is the only true One.
Yes, He is true and faithful.
Let the world slander us
and cut us to pieces, one
day I shall see Him, face to
face, the One who died for
me.
I remember when my
late pastor Brother Shelton
went home to be with the
Lord. I said at that time
even though I was not
saved, now he is away from
all the strife of tongues,
away from all the hatred,
the bitterness of men.
Praise the Lord. We were
sad to see him leave us, but
it was enough. The Lord
said of him, He has suf
fered enough, I'm bringing
him home to Me. Praise the
Lord. I look forward to my
home going. If in this life
Jim Little
men most miserable be- j
cause this life has nothing
for the believer. Yes, I long ι
to go home. The Lord gives j
us each day, a measure of
grace to keep on. Christ in
me, the hope of glory. He is
my hope, that is the only
thing that keeps me going.
If I didn't know the Lord, if
He didn't hold me, I'd go
under.
You who are saved know
somewhat of what I'm
speaking of. The unsaved
know nothing of the lan
guage we speak. As I said,
we are rapdily coming
down to the end of this age
and the Lord's soon coming
is very near. Christ could
come any minute. Man is
allowed 6,000 years on this
earth under his so-called
rule, for the number of man
is 6 (Rev. 13). At the end of
the 6,000 years must come
the 1,000 years of righteous
rule by my Lord. We are
near the end of 6,000 years.
20 years according to the
American calendar. We
say we arfe living in 1980,
but the Roman calender
was adjusted 3 years when
Christ was born, so we
really are living in 1983.
That puts us 17 years from
the year 2,000. Before the
year 2,000 there must take
place the 7 year tribulation
period (Dan. 9:27-Matt.
24:21) So we are talking
about 10 years from this
year or 1993. Then there is
no need to wonder why
things are so bad. Oh, they
are bad and getting worse
every minute. That's why it
is so hard on us as
believers.
In Noah's day it was the
same only now it is worse.
Our Lord said; "And as it
was in the days of Noah, so
shall it be also in the days
of the Son of man." (Lk.
17:26) Some have said they
didn't think it could get this
bad before the Lord comes. 1
But we are seeing it with '
our own eyes, and I believe !
our redemption is nearer
than we think. I am not
trying to set a year or day '
on the calendar for the
Lord's second coming, but !
just a little simple arithme
tic as I pointed out let's you J
Liiv/ν» νιιαι nie ο,νυυ jcaia is
ilmost gone. This is 1980.
:he year 2,000 is just around
he corner. The only re
straint left on the earth is
he Holy Spirit and the few
>elievers. The believers
ire the salt of the earth.
> hen the salt of the earth is
;nne, open corruption will
H't in. We think it is bad
low, and it is, but you let
rhrist come! And then
here will be a string of
> iolence that will go around
:he world that will make all
:his today look like baby
.aIk. But praise the Lord
/ou and I know the Lord
jvill be with Him until the
'indignation" is past. Let
iiose who will deny the
coming of our Lord, but
praise the Lord I know He
is coming! No modernist
:an stop Him, no infidel or
atheist. Come Lord Jesus,
Mme auirklv
You and I who know the
^ord, let us be in prayer
nuch for one another, and
redeeming the time, for the
days are evil. Satan and his
demons are all around us
trying to slay us on every
hand. He has moved boldly
to try to choose this means
Df getting the truth out.
He'll fight me every way he
can to stop it. Let us pray
For our loved ones who are
lost. In all this battle I see
the slimy crawl of Satan.
He would kill me and every
believer before sunset if he
could. Oh, the grace and
love of God for such a
sinner as I. Praise the
Lord. You all pray for me,
and pray that the Lord will
keep the Gospel going out
from here as He has for
almost eight years this
month, May. The Lord has
been good and gracious to
me, I praise the Lord for
everything.
I am not old in years, I'm
>nly thirty four. But some
>ne said one day ; you are
>ld in battles. But I'm glad
he Lord saved me in my
fouth. I was twenty six
vhen God saved me a little
>ver eight years ago. It was
> great time when the Holy
Spirit awakened me to my
ost condition and revealed
Christ to my heart. But it
shall be greater when
Christ comes for me. I
would not exchange what I
have in Christ for ten thou
sand worlds of gold and
silver; no, I would not. My
dear believer, we shall
soon cross over and be on
the other side, safely home
at last. For all eternity we
shall be with the Lord in
eternal bliss. Praise the
Lord.

Teenagers Owe
Alexander Debt
Of Gratitude
Letter to the Editor
The Charlotte Post
The teenagers and senior
citizens of Charlotte and
Mecklenburg should have
paused for a moment of
silence in the recent pass
ing of Senator Fred Alex
ander because they owed
him a debt of gratitude for
supporting Senate Bill 55 in
1975. Senator Alexander
and House Representative
Jo Graham Foster were the
only two delegates of
twelve from Charlotte
Mecklenburg who support
ed Senate Bill 55 and House
Bill 28. These two bills were
written to abolish auto in
surance discrimination.
Senator Alexander be
lieved and insisted that all
high school seniors should
be registered to vote.
The late Senator Fred
Alexander was truly a hard
working public servant for
all citizens and he will be
missed in the community
and the North Carolina
General Assembly.

Orangeburg - The South
Carolina State College wo
men's basketball squad has
announced the signing of
Bowman standout guard
Earnestine Hallman to a
grant-in-aid.
Hallman, South Carolina
Basketball Association
Player of the Year in Class
A in 1980, is the first signee
for the Lady Bulldogs who
won the AIAW small col
lege title in 1979 and made
it to the final 16 this season,
finishing 30-5 under Willie
Simon.
Standing 5-6, Hallman
average 20 points, 15 re
bounds and eight assists
last season for the Mo
hawkettes who have cap
tured four consecutive
Class A state titles and
presently own an 80-game
win streak.
Defense Edges Offense
In Bulldog Spring Game
Orangeburg, S.C. - Tack
les John Alford and John
Courtney, linebacker Sid
ney Fulton, end Zack Grate
and cornerback Anthony
Crier led a charge that
carried the South Carolina
Bulldog defense past the
offense 19-13 in the annual
South Carolina State Col
lege spring football game
last Monday night at Bull
dog Stadium.
The defense, which re
ceived points for turnovers
and stopping the offense on
downs, received four
fumbles and had one inter
ception for 10 points and
held on downs nine times
for nine more for its total
The offense got its only
points of the night on Cor
nelius Reed's 66 yard gal
lop and 14-yard scoring
strike from QB Ben Mungin
to Osmond Edwards.
Bulldog head coach Bill
Davis, in his second year at
the helm, was pleased with
the overall performance of
his team but noted that the
defense looked sharper and
more aggressive than his
offensive unit.
"Our defense looked ex
tremely well at times,''
Davis said, "but we did not
execute quite as well on
offense as the staff had
hoped We missed some
blocks and some of our
younger guys on offense
didn't carry out their as
signments too well".
Davis, whose biggest
worry is finding a quarter
back to replace Nate Ri
vers and a punter to take
over the duties of Malcolm
Montgomery, was not over
ly concerned by the fact
that the defense played
better than the offense.
"At this stage of our
preparation," Davis noted,
"the defense is usually far
ther along than the offense
because offense is a little
more complicated and
harder to grasp "
. Reed was the Bulldogs'
best offensive performer
with 118 yards rushing.
Davis also thought that his
quarterback candidates
performed fairly well. Da
vis and his staff took a look
at Prince Phillips, who
shared the signal-calling
duties with Rivers last sea
son, Mungin, Ralph Way
mer and Desmond Gatson.
Davis said the position was
up for grabs.
Red Meat Prices
Red meat prices may be
up, but one thing remains
unchanged
That's the order of price
for different meat cuts,
according to specialists
with the North Carolina
Agricultural Extension
Service.
Whether it's beef, pork,
lamb or veal, the cuts from
the chuck or shoulder are
the least expensive. Next
comes cuU from the round
and highest price are the
middle cuts - rib and loin.
