MRS. WILLIAM HORACE NELSON JR. ...The former Miss Pamela A. Miller Miss Pamela Ann Miller Weds William Nelson Jr. Pamela Ann Miller and William Horace Nelson Jr. • were joined in marriage 1:30 p.m. August 16. at C. N. Jenkins Memorial United Presbyterian Church. Rev. George Good man and Rev, Edward Newberry officiated the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Hezekiah Miller of Charlotte are the parents of the bride. The bride was given in mar ; riage by her father. Mr. & Mrs. William Nel son Sr., of Greensboro, are ' . the parents of the groom. Karen Miller, sister' of the bride, was the Maid of Honor and Mrs. Vinis Par ham of Atlanta, Ga. served as Matron of Honor. Bridesmaids included Joyce Miller, sister of the bride, Mrs. Patsy Helton, both of Charlotte; Mrs. Rhonda Hemingway and Mrs. Marcheta Duncan, sisters of the groom, and from Greensboro. William Nelson Sr. was the Best Man. They are ! the niece and nephew of the groom. ; The bride wore a white organza wedding gown , styled with a mandrian •. neckline, empire waist and '•» chantilly lace sleeves. The full skirt and attached chapel train were edged with a deep chantilly lace florence. The bodice of the gown was enhanced with seed pearls. The chapel length veil was trimmed with matching chantilly lace and attached to a camelot headpiece. The maid of honor wore a soft pink and white spaghetti-strap gown with ! blue flowers accented in the background. The matron of honor and bridesmaids wore a blue and white gown of the same style. i The flower girl wore a soft pink and white gown with ribbon straps fhe groom and ring bearer wore white tuxedos with white shoes. The best man, bride’s father and 1 ushers wore grey tuxedos with gray and white ascots. The reception followed the ceremony in the church fellowship hall. The wedding cake was made by Mrs. Lucille Dixon. The food waS datered by Mrs. Helen Gkrald & Company. The wedding directresses were Mifs. Mary Faulkner and Mrs; Ritchie Dunlap. The organ music was ar ranged by Samuel Hill, with Mrs. Cynthia Willis and Preston Hill as solo ists. An arrangement of harp music was provided by Miss Tanya Greenfield. The couple's wedding trip was to Virginia. They now reside in Charlotte. 1 BELL JUBILEE SINGERS 10 ceieoraie meir Min anniversary, the Bell Jubilee Singers will stage a concert in Charlotte on Sunday, October 12, at 12:30 p.m. at the Park Road Center. Founded in 1946, the gospel group has appeared on tour throughout the country. This four-man group, which later ex panded to six, first appeared live on WBT radio, replacing the Golden Gate Quartet on Grady Cole’s show Sunday mornings. Charles Crutchfield, WBT’s station man ager then, gave them that opportunity, according to Jubilee singer. Gene Horton Tapes of the Bell Jubilee Singers are played on Sunday mornings at WBT at 6 a.m. Members of the group are as follows: back row left to right- Cecil Sturdant, J D. Bradley. Along w'ith concert tours the Jubilee singers has also participated in benefits for groups such as Boys Town and the March of Dimes. Viola Allison Hosts Garden Club Meeting Hostess for the Septem ber meeting of the Wash ington Height Garden Club was Viola Allison. The ipeeting was held last Tuesday and was the first of the Garden Club year. The president of the club, Lois Scott, praised club members for outstanding work accomplished during the last year. Next year’s plans are already under way. The next project will be a visit to Averv’s Nursing Home during the month of September. Plans were also made at the meeting for a Christ mas party Dec. 16 at the West Charlotte Community Center. The October meeting of Washington Height Garden Club will be held at the home of Lillie Mae Carter, 1622 Taylor Avenue.
