: Morgan-Lyles Exchange Wedding Vows October 25 Yvonne Morgan and Lee Grant Lyles exchanged wedding vows in a cere mony at Gethsemane Bap tist Church on Saturday, October 25, at 3 p.m., of ficiated by Rev. C. E. Dewberry. The bride is the daughter I of Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Morgan of 1016 Grove St. Parents of the bride groom are Mr. and Mrs. William Alexander of 728 Dedmon Street. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white satin gown embel lished with lace trim. She carried a bouquet of daisies and carnations. Lynette Morgan served as the maid of honor and Alice Morgan as the ma tron of honor. They were attired in green gowns with matching jackets and car ried yellow, green and white carnations. Bridesmaids Sharon Parker, Sharon Audrey, ■ Johnnie May Erwin and Mattie Morgan, wore yel low gowns and carried yel low mums. Willie Jones was the best "V man. Ushers were Robert 7 Morgan, Richard Morgan, ~ Sherlock Morgan, Rayford - Morgan and Sandy Morgan. J Other attendants consist ed of Deverlyn Morgan as “• the flower girl and Tavares - Parker as the ring bearer. J. Judy Dewberry provided - organ music. MR. AND MRS. LEE GRANT LYLES ...She was Miss Yvonne Morgan The bride is a graduate of Harding High School and presently attends Central Piedmont Community Col lege where she is studying accounting. She is also em ployed as a bookkeeper for K-Mart. A West Charlotte High School graduate, the bride groom is a warehouse tactory representative for Farr Davis company. After the ceremony and reception in the Church Hall, the bride's parents held another reception at their home. Fifty guests attended including one from Atlanta. The couple will make their home in Charlotte. She was recently elected Sopho more Princess at West Charlotte Senior High by _ student ballot. ~ Each 10th grade home ~ room nominated three — names. These names were then placed on a sheet for ZZ all 10th graders to make a — selection from. Ms. Brown ZZ received: the highest num ZZ her of votes, thus becoming jgZ SophomOre Princess. ^ She is also the head — cheerleader, a member of “ the Wretking Crew which ZZ 8618 UP scenes for drama — productions at West Char ~ lotte, and a member of ZZ Junior Achievers Explor ZZ ers. ~ As a member of the Girl ~ Scouts, NAACP and the I— Student Council, Ms. EZ Brown is kept busy with her various activities. Her hobbies include tZZ cheerleading and dancing. i* Ramona Brown ...Head cheerleader Presently she is a student at Miss Donna’s School of Dance with ballet, tap and jazz as her specialties. Last year as a ninth grader Ms. Brown attended Coulwood Junior High School. There she was in ducted into the Honor Society, elected Homecom ing Queen, held the position of head cheerleader and participated in Project Aries. She is a member of Walls Memorial AME Zion Church. Mr.; and Mrs. James Brown are the parents of Ms. Brown and she has one sister, Reba who is in the fourth grade. Ms. Brown has big plans: “I would like to attend Duke University and go into medicine. My ambition is to become a surgeon." Whatever plans Ms. Brown undertakes will be seen through. For she possesses that one quality that makes a true princess - inner beauty. Pamela Cook Wins Third Place Honors CULLOWHEE - Pamela Jean Cook of Charlotte recently won third place honors in informative speaking and duo interpre tation at the Blockade Run ner Forensic Tournament in Wilmington.
