Kevin Patterson Spearheads No. 1 Defense

Virginia Union University was
number four in rushing totals (61.4
yards per game), scoring (7.4
points per game), and total de
fense (144.6 yards total per game)
in defensive categories.
Spearheading the “number one"
defense in the nation is defensive
signal caller and middle lineback
er Kevin “Stamp" Patterson. At
6’2‘2”, 235 pounds, Patterson got
his nickname because of his vi
cious tackles which usually
"stamped” an imprint on the chest
of enemy ballcarriers.
Patterson has been likened to a
“bigger version of Willie Lanier"
(also from the CIAA conference)
former Kansas City Chief All-Pro
middle linebacker.
Kevin is one of the leading
tacklers with 48 (from scrimmage)
which does not include his special
team work which has been equally
devastating. Kevin has missed
playing in two games.
Head football coach Willard
Bailey refuses to take Kevin off the
