April 6, 7:30 p.m. at Pleastant Hill Baptist Church. 517 Baldwin Avenue. R£V. J. A. Cuthbertson-is - host pastor. Dr Leon C. Riddick, master instructor of the center and pastor of Mount Carmel Baptist Church, will deliver the annual sermon. Delano Rackard, a local dynamic speaker who seeks to keep the dream of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. alive. Rackard will deliver excerpts from DrTKIngVspeeches:— Music will be provided by the Center's 50-voice student ministers' choir; Pleasant Hill Church Senior Musical Choir and Silver Mount Church Glimpse of Hope Radio - -Choir___ Metrolina Theological --Seminary .ExtensionCen ter is a division of six major national seminaries . consisting of 400 in the USA and the largest in North Carolina. The center is headed by Rev. William bee-Jr.v -pastor-ob Silver Mount Baptist Church. The center will close for the summer and reopen in the fall for classes. Spon sored by the Baptist State Convention of North Carol ina the center offers classes in theology, Bible, sermon preparation, pastoral ministries and other courses to help pre pare the modern day ministers and pastors. Thff center is in the process of expanding to include classes for all people in mission, music, etc. The public is cordially invited to attend this an nual fellowship service. Today the program aided by present and past public school teachers assist stu dents of all ages in master ing basic skills, language arts and mathematics. The Sunday evening ser vice will commence at 7 p.m. Service for the week will begin each night at 7:30. Choir from the district will provide the music. Hender Billingsley Road. ~~ CLEMENT MEMORIAL AME ZION On Sunday, March 21, at 6 p m. the members of Clement Memorial AME Zion Church under the dy namic leadership of Rev and Mrs. Ell Price cele brated their first Twelve Tribe Rally which was a great success. The church concluded their rally March 28 at 6 pm. by celebrating their first Coronation Ceremony. At this time Mrs Hattie Brown, the leader of Tribe No. 11 (Joseph i was crowned Queen and re ceived a plaque for being the first place winner. Mrs. Brown raised the highest amount of money. Her tribes also received a certificate of appreciation presented from the church •f for their outstanding work The groups raised the high est amount of money The second place plaque went t& Ruby Gabriel the sister and co-captain of Mrs. Hattie Brown. Mrs. Gabriel had the se cond highest amount of money. Polly Brown the leader of Tribe No. 12 (Benjamin) ws awarded a plaque of recognition from Rev. and Mrs Price for her out standing work and for being the third place winner. Mrs. Polly Brown (Ma Polly) is the oldest mem-j ber and the Mother of the" Ghurch.
